My Career Path After High School.

The Beginning of a New Life.

I just graduated from high school! I am so happy now that I am done with high school, and I am feeling more than ready to start a new chapter in my life. Now I got to make an important choice... What and where do I want to study in? Should it be as an interior designer at Cegep du Vieux-Montréal or as an anthropologist at Ahuntsic College?

Choice 1 : Interior Designer.

Choice 2 : Anthropologist.

Great! Now that I am starting a new semester here and in this program I got to make sure that I stay on a good track! It has been two weeks since the start of the semester, and I am already feeling a little bit overwhelm. If I want to get straight A's, I should continue my great works and do all of my assignments. Or, I could relax for a bit and continue later. What should I do?

Choice 1 : Do all my homework.

Choice 2 : Relax for a bit.

Great! Now that I am starting a new semester here and in this program I got to make sure that I stay on a good track! It has been two weeks since the start of the semester, and I am already feeling a little bit overwhelm. One of the teachers proposed to the entire class a one in a lifetime experience. It is a trip at the end of the semester! More details will be announced if I choose to participate. To participate in it, I got to make sure that I do all of my work before the deadlines. Should I try to participate for the trip? Or should I take this semester more relaxed?

Choice 1 : Relax for the beginning of this semester

Choice 2 : Try to participate for the trip!

Ahuntsic College

Do all my homework.

I did all of my homework and my reward is getting good grades! I learned the ropes of this career with all my field related classes, but lately I have been feeling off. I have been offered an internship at the end of my program, which is awesome, but I am not sure if I want to continue in this field. My heart has been telling me to change but my brain wants me to stay in this program. Can you help me decide? Should I take the opportunity and become an intern at the end of my studies or should I change program?

Choice 1 : Take the opportunity.

Choice 2 : Change program.

Pile of books

Relax for a bit.

Oh! No! I have relaxed for too much time, and now I am way behind everyone! I am at risk of failing my semester and most of my classes. I asked for advice from my teacher, and he said that I should put my efforts' maximum and do all my homework to catch up. Should I listen to him or continue at my own pace?

Choice 1 : Do all my homework.

Choice 2 : Do my homework at my own pace

I didn't listen, and now I am paying the price for my mistake... At the end of the semester, I ended up failing, and I couldn't enter the program again. I am feeling very disappointed at myself. You can end the story here or start again and make different choices.

Choice 1 : Start again

Failing, bad grades, F

Take the opportunity.

Here I am, two years later, after I just finished my program, working as an intern in interior designer in one of the biggest architect firm. I have been working here for about two months now, and I already learned the ins-and-outs of this career. One of the disadvantages of being an intern is that I have no income. Regardless of that, I love learning more about this career knowing it will come in handy when I become a certified interior designer. Since I work really well with them, the firm I am working for offered me a permanent job after my internship. But, I always wanted to start my own interior design firm. What should I do? Work with them or try to start my own firm?

Choice 1 : Take the job.

Choice 2 : Start my own firm.

Change program.

I have been debating this decision with myself, and I think that changing program will help me be happier. Changing program will be for the best! I have decided to go study in anthropology at Ahuntsic College.

Choice 1 : Anthropology at Ahuntsic College.

Changing paths, deciding

Take the job.

I took the job, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! It has been a year since the moment I started working as a certified interior designer, and I have learned a lot more over the year. I had to go through another on-the-job-training to make sure I was ready and competent. Recently, I have been thinking about starting my own interior design firm. Should I do it or should I stay with my current job?

Choice 1 : Stay with my current job.

Choice 2 : Start my own firm.

Interior designer

Start my own firm.

Unfortunately, this decision was a flop. I didn't have enough years of experience and made major errors while trying to start an interior design firm. I should have taken the job because now I find myself with no job at all. You can end the story here or start again and make different choices.

Choice 1 : Start again

Stay with my current job.

I have decided to stay in this firm a little bit longer. I am still very happy to work with this great and awesome team. Since I decided to stay with them, I got a compensation package. It includes benefits, a better salary, health insurance, paid vacations and pension. I am very happy how everything turned out! You can end the story here or start again and make different choices.

Choice 1 : Start again

Getting a compensation

Start my own firm.

Best decision I could have ever made! The creation of my firm was a success! I am now my own boss and work how I want, choose whom I want to work with, etc. Everything is awesome! You can end the story here or start again and make different choices.

Choice 1 : Start again

Starting the firm

Relaxed semester.

I decided to start this semester by relaxing a little bit. I have done some of my homework but not all of it. Should I start to put more efforts into my studies or put aside my workload for longer?

Choice 1 : Put more efforts.

Choice 2 : Put the work aside.

Relaxing

Participating for the trip.

I did all my homework before any deadlines, and I could now participate for the trip! I am so happy. We got new details about it: it's an integration trip. It will take place at the end of the semester, replacing our final exams. This trip is basically an internship, but instead of working for free for someone, we get to work for ourselves! We collect new information about new cultures and new communities, and at the end of the trip we do a summary with all the results that we got! I was wondering if should I do it, or, if I should stay and focus on my finals?

Choice 1 : Let's travel!

Choice 2 : Focus on my exams

Putting more efforts.

I did it! I passed all of my exams with straight A's! Now I have to decide what I should do. Go to the university and become an Anthropology teacher, or work for a firm of anthropologists.

Choice 2 : Work for an anthropology firm.

Straight A's

Putting the work aside.

Oh, no! I didn't take anything that seriously this semester, and now I find myself with all failed exams. I am really disappointed in myself. You can end the story here or start again and make different choices.

The trip!

The trip was amazing! I had so much fun doing it! I made new contacts and new friends for life! I developed a new passion for field work!
