The Beginning of a Journey.

It was the end of high school. Our exams were about to begin. I had a choice. I could apply to Maisonneuve College in Social Science or to Ahuntsic College in Medical Ultrasound.

Choice 1 : Apply to Maisonneuve College.

Choice 2 : Apply to Ahuntisc College.

I applied to Maisonneuve College, but they rejected me because my grades were too low, and I didn't have straights A's.To be fair, high school was thoroughly hard. So, now I work at a convenience store.On-the-job-training, I had to learn the ropes, and it was very draining After many years of work at this dead-end job, I decided to apply.

Choice 1 : Start again loser!

Apply to Ahuntisc College.

I decided to apply in College Ahunstic because it closer to home, and I don't have to pay for the gas money.

Choice 1 : Paralegal.

Choice 2 : Medical ultrasound.

I didn't like the program, it wasn't for me. Honestly, At that moment, I realize that the was very boring and overwhelming.The teacher was also messy, so that didn't encourage me to stay in the program.

After I decided to quit the paralegal Technology, I was questioning myself about my personality and what career would fit me.Obviously everyone expects me to be a nurse cause one I'm a black person, and two because my family thinks that's the only job that only exists to them. I didn't want to be a nurse.That's the most popular bias. As a black woman, I should do something different but still in the medical field to not disappoint my ancestor. I did my research, and realize that the medical ultrasound program is very invaluable.

I completed all the courses, and pull off all the semester by having Straight A's. I also passed to board and Graduated. I decided to take a break because I was exhausted.

Choice 1 : Stay at home for 1 year.

Choice 2 : The Jewish General Hospital.

I stayed at home for 1 year and my parents Chad the audacity to tell me that I was corrupting they desire to retire by being a thief. Basically, I'm stealing there money by not working and buying stuff online.Well, they are my parents, and they should be happy that I graduated from school, and that I have a future career planned. No, they feel the need to complain.

I apply to work at the Jewish hospital, and I got accepted. I was so happy about it cause all the work that I put on my studies was worth it.I am finally ingrained at my new Job.To be fair, when I was on-the-job-training my trainer was super nice to me, and she was clear in her explication.I was definitely her favorite trainee.

After a good three years of working at the Jewish General Hospital, got tired of working there every day withholding a day with my parent.Let's say that I'm a modern slave.I thought we abolished slavery in 1834, in Canada, I guess not.There were a lot of drawbacks. The drive of work was too intense for me because they have a lot of vacant positions. I'm obligated to overtime.The patient that we received at this hospital are old.I thought I was the worst human being on Earth until I met them.They are rude.They love to talk, doesn't when to draw the line especially them old man.They have a Bachelor in flirtation if that was ever program at University. On top of this, the premium wage that I received doesn't represent half of the work that I do. They paid me $25 per hours. Clearly I don't get paid enough.

I choose to work with a different type of patient, kids. They are so adorable, and really cooperative, some of them, but it's understandable because they are kids, and they don't necessarily know that's good or bad. Obviously, when I apply the employer Chad to do some background check make sure that I'm not a crazy psychopath that wanted to kill everyone on earth because she thinks that she the Ultimate Savior of the humanity. Well, working here wasn't as bad as the Jewish General Hospital.Yes, it sometimes happens that some single dads try to flirt with me which is understandable cause first I'm pretty, and kind. One of the main drawbacks is the wage. Again, it's not enough for me.

Honestly, I don't understand how to Canadian economic isn't going well, but what I know is that I need to find a way to make more money if I ever want to have a big future. I need to go further in my career. I had a discussion with my cousin about that lack of fulfillment, and that stress. For the first time during all his existence, he said something Genius.He told me that I could work as a travel ultrasound technician in the United States, more specifically in Boston. At first, I had my doubts because it's seemed that he wanted to trap me, so I could take care of my grandmother.That's typically a black people thing. Honestly, I have nothing to lose, so I decided to move over there.

Staying working in Quebec won't help me.I'll probably end up having a mortgage. I become depress, sad, and broke at the same time.

I finally moved in Massachusetts, and I'm in love with this state.At first, I was scared because it's a big change in my life, and I'm five hours away from my dear parents.I'm that they are crying right now, which is understanding because I'm their only child.

The Agency offered me a job at Mass General Hospital, and accepted the job.The wage was higher. I make $12,208 per months. I'm so happy, glad that I took this risk. Matter of fact, I met a wonderful man that's now my husband. He was my first patient when I started work. I'm not retiring because I'm getting old, and it's hard to handle the drive of work.
