I stayed in Costa Rica for six months working in a small village and helping the community. I learned invaluable lessons and found a purpose in helping others. During my stay, I met someone, and I am not sure if I want to come back to Montreal just now.

I have been working as a hairdresser since I quit school. I make great money and saved plenty enough to move out of my parent's house. Although I am ready to fly on my own, I sometimes apprehend going back to school because hair dressing is kind of a dead-end job.

I studied hard and it finally paid off. I got my Social Science diploma, and it was now time for me to apply to universities. I wasn't sure about which career path to choose, so I applied in two different programs at different universities.

My last year in Costa Rica was incredible. I got to know this stranger better, and he quickly became my lover. Life seemed slowed down and peaceful over here. My partner wanted us to invest in a house on a beach, but a part of me wants to explore there rest of the world. I have been questioning myself a lot lately regarding my future plans.

Being back in Montreal was refreshing. I got more implicated in community services and volunteering organization. I have found a passion in helping the ones in need and find it really rewarding. I was thinking about volunteering in a senior's residence, but I also wanted to create my own organization to help raise awareness on sexual harassment in work environments.

A couple of months ago, I opened a beauty salon in Montreal. I have since been working really hard to build a reputation and a clientele. I was scared to not go back to school as everyone told me my company would most likely be a failure, but this adventure has thought me to believe in myself and to not take too much in consideration what others say and think.

I graduated with a Criminology bachelor from university in 2024. I worked for thirty-five years in the federal prison system, and I decided to retire a year ago. During those years I accumulated a pension, and I can not wait to enjoy my retirement under the sun.
