It all started like this.

I am currently in my final year of high school and recently, representatives from various CEGEPs came to our school to showcase their programs. This has caused me some stress as I will soon need to make a decision on which CEGEP to attend. I find all the programs to be equally interesting and do not have a clear preference at this time.

Choice 1 : Attend college with my friends.

Choice 2 : Play collegian hockey.

I am currently in my final year of studying health care techniques. In order to successfully pass my courses, I must dedicate myself to studying diligently. While I do make time to spend with my friends and work out, I do miss playing hockey. I often think about what I may have missed out on or what my experience would have been like if I had played collegian hockey. On the other hand, I am grateful for everything I have and all that I am able to do. I am faced with the decision of whether to continue my studies at university or enter the labor market directly.

Choice 1 : Continue my studies at university..

Choice 2 : Go straight into the labor market.

I am currently playing hockey for the Cegep of Thetford Mines while studying Social Science. Being part of the hockey team as allowed me to make many new friends. However, due to my busy hockey schedule, I rarely have the opportunity to hang out with my high school friends. Despite this, we still remain close. My hockey commitments have also affected my ability to work, as I now have less time to d so compared to high school. My days are filled with training and school-related tasks, but I enjoy it because I am never bored. However, I do need to make a decision about my university program soon.

Choice 1 : Study in primary education.

Choice 2 : Study in administration.

Continue my studies at university.

I have applied to both universities Laval and Sherbrooke. My family is extremely excited for me. My mother is particularly keen on me attending Uinversity Laval, as it is where all of my family members have studied. She is very supportive and enthusiastic about my future. In fact, my parents even threw a surprise party to celebrate my acceptance into the program. However, while many of my friends from my CEGEP program have received their responses, I have not. This has caused me a lot of stress and anxiety. Finally, I received my response ans unfortunately, I was not accepted into the program at University Laval. However, I had also applied to the University of Sherbrooke. My mother was disappointed in me, which made me feel unworthy. Now, I am faced with the decision oh whether to attend the University of Sherbrooke or pursue a career as a hairdresser.

Choice 1 : Go to Sherbrooke university.

Choice 2 : Take classes to become a hairdresser.

Go straight into the labor market.

I received an invitation from the hospital where I will be working this summer. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work full-time and not have to worry about my studies. However, I still need to do an interview with the head nurse of the pediatric department. This is causing me a lot of stress. Thankfully, my mom is helping me prepare for this important interview. I completed the interview, and I believe I did very well. The interviewer was very kind and we connected well. I have now started working at the hospital, and it has been five months since I began my full-time job. I absolutely love it. Recently, my friend Anna finished her studies and decided to go on a six-month trip to Africa. She has invited me to join her. This has always been a dream of mine, but I am torn between continuing my full-time job at the hospital or going on this trip with Anna.

Choice 1 : Continue working full-time at the hospital.

Choice 2 : Go on a six months trip to Africa with Anna.

Study in primary education.

I have completed my studies in primary education and received straight A's throughout my program. I am passionate about the subject matter and courses I have taken. It maddened me when people say I am courageous for choosing to become a teacher because of the challenges of working with children these days. However, I put aside these negative thoughts and continue pursuing my passion. I cannot deny that there are tough times, but I believe that my students appreciate me because I am thoughtful and understanding of their difficulties. Unfortunately, I have observed that some teachers only give cursory attention to their students' struggles. I have learned to master time management in order to effectively plan my school hours. In conclusion, I am confident in my ability to pull off in this profession, and I am dedicated to being a successful teacher.

I completed my studies in administration, but I did not enjoy it. I chose this program because of the in-and-out for a good wage, but it did not interest me. During my on-the-job training, I made some realizations. Unfortunately, my experience as a trainee was not very positive, which did not help my overall impression of the field. One of the main drawbacks for me was the fact that I spent all day sitting in a chair and working on a computer. While the pay was good, I felt unfulfilled. As a result, I have decided to pursue a career in finance and explore new passions to fill the void.

Go to Sherbrooke university.

I completed a year at the University of Sherbrooke studying health care, but I quickly realized that I was not comfortable with the idea of performing procedures that involved piercing someone's skin with hypodermic needles. As I was exposed to more and more blood, I found myself feeling dizzy and disinterested in my courses. Eventually, I made the decision to leave Sherbrooke and return home. While my parents were initially disappointed in my choice, they eventually came to understand my reasons. One day, while doing household chores, I stumbled upon my old nursing scrubs, box of powder-free blue nitrile gloves, and pre-injection alcohol swabs. Seeing these items brought back a wave of nostalgia. Despite my love for my life as a stay-home mother to my four children, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of longing for my previous career.

Take classes to become a hairdresser.

Currently, I work as a hairdresser. I chose this profession with the purpose of helping people feel beautiful. As a hairdresser, I am able to boost people's self-esteem. However, one downside of this job is having to work on weekends, which is not always enjoyable. On the other hand, it does provide a premium wages. In-depth, I love my job because it brings happiness to others. However, it can also be seen as a dead-end job with limited opportunities for advancement. Despite this, I personally believe it is an invaluable profession.

Continue working full-time at the hospital.

Six months ago, I worked in the emergency department where there was a high level of streptococcal diagnoses. My duties included examining patients' mouths with a tongue depressor and stabilizing their condition by attaching a pulse oximeter to their fingers and using an electronic arm blood pressure monitor. One time, a woman came into the hospital screaming for help due to bleeding from her forehead. I used a hemostat to stop the bleeding and then applied a compress and bandage to her head. She returned a week later and I had to remove her bandage. I also frequently had to insert catheters into patients' blood vessels. Currently, I am working in the pediatric department, which I love. I have the opportunity to weigh newborns on a baby scale and take their pulse with a stethoscope. I also occasionally check their reflexes with a reflex hammer. To prevent infections, I always wear a surgical mask while working with patients. One time, a nurse was missing from the surgical team and I had to assist in surgery by handing the surgeon a needle holder and disposing of used needles in the sharps container.

Go on a six months trip to Africa with Anna.

Currently, I am in Africa with my friend Anna. We have been teaching at a school and have made many new friends. It is a fulfilling experience to be able to help so many children. Before leaving, we organized a fundraiser and were able to raise $10,000. With this money, we were able to purchase essential items and bring them to the community. Currently, we are on a safari and are in awe of the beautiful animals in this part of the world. During our trip, I had the opportunity to meet someone from Africa who is also dedicated to helping the community. I find him very interesting and I am considering the possibility of staying in Africa, specifically in Sweden where he is from, instead of returning to Canada after this trip.
