Introduction

Hey everyone, welcome to my screencast on "How to use the Virtual Writing Tool properly". My name is Kiruththigan Ravindran, but you could call me Kiru if it's easier. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a student at Ahuntsic College, currently studying Accounting and Management Technology. In this program, we learn about understanding and interpreting financial data to make informed decisions. We learn about the financial statements, basic accounting ethics, taxation, and more. If you enjoy working with numbers, and you're passionate about business management, this is definitely your field of career.

Whether you're a student or a professional, we all want to avoid making errors in our day to day writing. Don't worry we are all in this together. That is why everybody needs a proofreader from time to time, and nowadays with the internet everyone could get access to one very easily.

Now, I'll be the first to admit, I struggle a lot with vocabulary and grammar errors, but I've personally seen lots of improvements in myself.

I've managed to score 100% in all of my past 5 writing assignments.

My goal of this video is to simply to teach and demonstrate you with how to use the tools and knowledge to become a better writer by avoiding making mistakes.

Now, here's what I want you to do. Pay attention, and take notes if needed, but if you listen carefully, by the end of this video you'll have all the knowledge about the website, and you'll start to see your improvements in your future writing assignments.

Without wasting more time, let's dive into this website and explore what's in there. Trust me, you'll be amazed by what is coming next.

The Problem

Let's say that you're a new learner, and you want to improve your writing skills. But you often make grammar mistakes and vocabulary errors.

These errors might affect your confidence, make your writing less clear, and it would make you seem less professional.

For example, let's say you are writing an important email for a job offer. You would want to seem well-educated, professional, and you would want to make a great impression. Unfortunately, you made a mistake in your sentence and have few errors here and there. This could lead to confusion, misunderstandings, and certainly to a rejection.

This could be devastating. But don't worry, I'll make sure this never occurs in your life. In this screencast, I'm going to share with you the solution that has helped get trough in similar situations.

The Quest

First, open your browser, and type the following URL (https://virtualwritingtutor.com/) into the address bar and hit enter. If you've typed the URL correctly, you will see this page on your screen.

Right as you open the page, in the top left you'll see the logo.
Underneath the logo, at the top of screen in the middle, you'll find the navigation menu, where you could choose what you need help in.
If you click on the arrow here, it will display more options that you could use to correct yourself.
On the top right of your screen, right next to your profile you'll see three lines, that is the settings menu.
But most importantly, in the middle of the screen you got text area.

The Solution

Now, you basically write your text that you want to verify here. I'm just going to write a sentence to show you how it works in the text area.
So, for example, let's write, "Me and my friend went to the park yesterday." and click on the check grammar button.
As you can see, this tool identifies your error and also gives you a suggestion about what you can write instead.
