Welcome to my video, my name is Audrey, I’m studying Social Science at Ahuntsic College. I’ve been studying Psychology for one and a half years already. This program gives you all the university prerequisites necessary if you want to study psychology and have a career in this field. Additionally, some of the class that you have to take in this program focuses on understanding the social and cultural relationship between individual, like anthropology and sociology. This aspect prepares student for studies in areas such as Social Work, Sexology or Psychoeducation.
When you are studying Social Science, you have to do a lot of research and written work. Sometimes we have to do it in English and it is always better that we make sure grammar and spelling are correct so that our work is taken seriously.
For some people, it can be challenging, and it can be frustrating to lose relevance for this kind of mistake. For me, It is always a challenge because I am dyslexic.
I’ve recently been accepted at university in Psychology and in Sexology. I’m very interested in these two profiles but I would have to make a choice very soon. No matter what program I choose, there will be similar issues, and I will always have to check my grammar and spelling on my work.
Today, I'm going to help you with this challenge. I will demonstrate how to use the Website Virtual Writing tutor, a useful website for this kind of work.

When you go to university, you will have to take a lot of classes, and it can be difficult to find time to correct all your work.
If you don't do it right, you can lose points and it can affect your grade for the rest of the semester.
For example, imagine that you did reliable work on your research, but your teacher didn't give you a great score only because your grammar is not good enough. It can be very frustrating.
In this video I will show you how to solve this problem.
First to go to the website, you can open a new tab. On the address bar, at the top of the screen in the middle, you can write, “VirtualWirtingtutor.com” which is the URL for this Website. The home page of the website will appear and you will be able to see the logo, in the top left corner of the screen.
Below the logo, At the top of the screen in the middle, you can see the navigation menu that give you access to all the different sections of this website. If you go in the top right corner of the screen you can click on “Login”. If you don’t already have an account you can create it, it is very simple. For me, my account is related to my google account, so I will just click there. That bring you to your profile page. If you create an account, it gives you access to more useful tools.
If you click on the logo, in the top left corner of the screen, you return to the home page. In the middle of the screen you can see a box and another navigation menu. On the top of the navigation menu you can see the instructions. This is where you can check your grammar, your punctuation, your spelling, etc. You can write the text that you want to check on the blank area in the middle of the screen. Afterwards you can select what you wish to correct in the navigation menu. If you click on the blue arrow in the top right corner it gives you access to more options. As I said earlier, for my field of study this website can help me correct my essay and my research work. I will now show you how to do it. For example, I would write a sentence that I could have written on a psychology essay.: The behaviorism theory refers to a psychological approch witch emphazises scientific and objective methods of investigation. First, you can see misspelled words underlined in red. If you click on them with the right-click of the mouse, you will have suggestions of possible corrections. Then, you can click on “check grammar”. It will bring you to your error profile. It will tell you how many words you have, how many paragraphs you have written, how many mistakes were detected, and it will calculate the error density. If you scroll down, you can see explanations of your mistakes to help you correct them.
If you scroll up, at the bottom of the box you have other tools that can be useful. For example, you have access to a microphone and a speech button, which can be useful if you want to listen to what you have written or to understand how to pronounce a new word.
Finally, in the top right corner of the screen you can see different social medias icon if you want to share the website with others.
As I promised, I showed you how to correct your work and submit a work that shows the qualities and effort you put into it.
