Introduction

Welcome! My name is Juan Andres, I am from Colombia, and I am a Social Sciences student at the Cegep of Saint-Hyacinthe in Quebec. I am going to show you a very useful website to do historical searches: Historians.org is an American Historical Association's website in which you can find almost everything about history, history from everywhere in the world.

Sometimes, it is very hard to find a source you can trust, and nobody wants to get a bad grade because of an unreliable source. I certainly don't.
If you want to be taken seriously, you have to use credible sources. If you want to know a lot about history, you got to read a lot in order to learn and remember the events and situations that have happened in the past, right?
If you want to get good grades, to impress your teachers and peers, and look smart, you have to use an appropriate vocabulary in your essays and exams, don't you think?
We all want to succeed at school, don't we? It is not easy to do so because there are a lot of obstacles to overcome, but it is not impossible.

I am a big fan of history, I love reading about World War II, I really want to become a History Teacher.
I know it won't be easy, I know I am not a very dedicated student, but I certainly know I will improve myself.

As I said, I have read a lot about history. I have always had good grades in History and related courses.
I have done some searches about history, such as how and why the United States of America have taken the half of Mexican territory, how and why the Great War started, and many others.

My plan is to show you the perfect solution to get great grades by using credible sources

It won't take that much, and you will thank me as soon as you see the results.

I am still surprised at how easy it is to find credible sources in this website, and I am pretty sure you are going to be surprised too.

The Problem

During the semester, you will have a lot of homework to do, and sometimes you don't know where to find a credible source. Indeed, sometimes you can't find anything related to a historical event, and more often than not you don't have enough time to read a lot of bad sources

So, you can be late if you are not able to find a good source, and you will probably get a bad grade.

For example, suppose you have three weeks to make an essay about the Colombian peace treaty, but you can't find any source about it

It can lead to despair, anger, and sadness. But don't worry. I have the solution. I will show you how to solve this problem in the next few minutes, it's very easy!

The Quest

First, open your browser. Then type historians.org into the address and hit enter. Then, you will see this page appear.

In the top of the website there is the logo of the website, the search bar, the username and password bar
In the middle there is a constant changing redirection images to some important information.
In the middle right of the screen there are two buttons, one to join them and one to donate.
Below the images, there are two sections: Perspectives and news that redirect to other posts.
When you scroll, in the right of the screen you can read about the American Historical Association, the latest job postings, the calendar, and the tweets from the American Historical Association.

The Solution

Now, to find useful sources, you got to click on the search bar and type some keywords, for example if you need some information about the Colombian peace treaty, you can write "Colombia, peace", and you will get a lot of results about it, you can click on those that look useful for your research and take the information. When you click on it, you can see who wrote it below the title and the date it was posted, so you can quote it easily.
If you scroll, you can leave a comment.
And above the comment section, you can see the tags, click on it, and see a lot of posts about that tag.

The Conclusion

So, if you are seeking to become a History Teacher or a related field, that's how you find credible sources easily.
I promised I would show you how to find useful sources, and I did it using the website of the American Historical Association.
