Hi everyone, my name is Charlie. I have been studying Social Science for a year and a half now. In this program, we have anthropology, psychology and History classes that help us to learn about all kinds of aspects related to human beings. Today I am going to show you how to use an excellent website that was designed to help you write reports without errors and create a lot of tools that will help you with your grammar. This website is called Virtual WritingTutor.
Next fall, I will be going to university in psycho education. To become successful at my job, I will need to write a lot of reports on the students' progress. I will use a lot of complicated words that I don't certainly know how to write so Virtual Writing Tutor is going to help me make sure I don't make mistakes that will make me look bad in front of my students and my superiors.
I have been studying English since I was about 8 years old but I really want to get better at the writing part, and I am motivated to do so.
I am excited to show you how to use this website and become the best writers you can be.
Now, sit back and enjoy this tutorial
First of all, open a Google page and type the URL Virtual Writing Tutor in the address bar at the top of the screen in the middle. Click on enter. You should see exactly this page appear on your screen if you did everything right.
In the top left corner of the screen, there is the Virtual Writing Tutor logo and in the top right corner of the screen there are some icons that you can click on if you want to share the page on any social media. Under the icons, at the top of the screen in the middle, you can see the first navigation menu that will help you to learn more about the website and if you look just underneaths, there is the second navigation menu that were you will find most of the tools that you will be using. In the middle of the screen, you will find the text area where you are going to put the text you want to correct. In the bottom right corner of the text area are the microphone and the speaker, which are useful if you want to hear how to pronounce a word or a sentence correctly. Now, let's go back to the second navigation menu. If you want to know if your text contains any errors, copy and paste it in the text area. I will do an example. I will write something that contains a mistake "The student are learning." and then click on "Check Grammar". If you use the scroll bar you can see that it indicates your word count, your paragraph count, your error count and the error density. You can now correct all the errors that were found in your text and hand a clean report to your superiors in my case. You can also click on the microphone to hear the pronunciation. You can also login the website If you click on the button that says "login" in the top right corner of the screen, beside the "settings menu". Then, you can get back to the second navigation menu and click on "writing tools". Click on glossary creator. As you can see you can create a new glossary with all the words of your field of study that you find hard to memorize or to make a glossary for your students. If I create a new one, I give it a title, then you can add a topic write an introduction, write a term, a part of speech, hear the pronunciation, add a definition, a translation, an example and an image. For example, that is a glossary that I made words related to my field of study. This is what it looks like.
I hope the tools I showed you today can help you to write great reports without errors so that you can impress your boss with your good writing.
