Hi everyone and welcome to my channel. My name is Daphné Malenfant. For those of you who don’t know about the special Education program this video will explain important aspects of this program. To start, it is the path to follow to obtain the profession of special care counselor or educator. At the university, the courses last three years and the master's two years. During this program, the students learn to analyze and evaluate a series of problems such as physical and psychological disabilities and behavior problems in the people involved. The goal is to find the problem in each of the people and make an intervention plan accordingly to improve aspects of their lives. To have experience on the practical level, at each session, there is an internship in a school or in the hospital. The trainee therefore applies the theory learned in his courses. At the end of the course, you can choose to work in youth centers, in a school, in a hospital or several other places.
In everyday life, special Education teachers must deal with several people with difficulties and problems that are different from each other as soon as they arrive at work. It is therefore a heavy task to make intervention plans for each person and to look individually for each of the tools to accommodate the person in difficulty. It can be overwhelming and can be too much for them. While they are looking through all their different tools and folders, they can't help other people in need, so it isn't effective. It is imperative that they save as much time as possible in this search for useful information.
If you are a special Education teacher, and you have the same problem, don't worry, I have found the solution, and I will show you. The solution is the teacher vision website, especially the special needs section. To access it, you must write on the search page of a browser the words: Vision teacher Teaching and Classroom Strategies. You click on the submit button, you scroll down, and the website appears
You click on it, and you scroll down until you see the section called special needs in the bottom right corner. You click on it, and there you have it. In this web page, you have access to all the information you need to make your interventions. You have tools to help accommodate and to include people in difficulty. It also includes material for support and for behavior management.
This web page is useful since it contains all the documents and sources necessary in everyday life. When you scroll down to the different categories, at the top left corner, there is one called accommodations and environment. When you click on it, you have access to a list of various tools and strategies. For example, you have access to cases studies. This is helpful because it gives you model examples to rely on if you live similar situations. Also, it gives you access to a glossary to stay familiar with the terms. Then, if we go back to the page dedicated to special needs. you scroll down and in the middle of the screen, you click on the section called IEP Resources. This section gives us access to all the important information to be aware of and write in our intervention plan. It is therefore very important to rely on these sources to ensure that you have a complete plan. When you go back to the special needs page, on the left handside of the screen, there is a section called curriculum support. When you click on it, you have a list of strategies. It is very simple to navigate because each section is separated into schools’ subjects. For all the sections, there are various ressources and usefull tools for a special educator.
This web page solves our problem because the time to find information in several documents is no longer wasted because all the information is in the same website. You can now keep this time to help more people in difficulties.
