I have been studying communication in public relations at University of Quebec at Montreal for 2 years now. In this program I have some marketing, management and communication classes. I personally really like this program, and I think I have found my place there with the marketing career.
Like probably most of you, when I started doing some marketing at my work I didn't know how to start, what to do and how to do it.
And like you, I wanted to have good-looking publicity and Facebook posts. So, I went looking for things and formations to help me.
It's been now 3 years that I've been working for a rental and construction company. I'm in charge of doing their marketing, so I'm in charge of doing their publicity and even doing the website. I had an 8-hour formation at the beginning of my work to show me the important things about marketing. My boss is really happy with what I'm doing, so I guess I'm good at it.
So, today I'm going to help you get started in marketing, I'll also show you some tips and tricks that I wish I had known when I started
Let me explain the problem, when I started my job I knew what was a publication on Instagram or Facebook, I also knew what was a publicity, but at this time I didn't know how to create a good-looking post to make a good publicity for the company.
So, I was in front of my computer with the charge of doing some publicity without knowing how to create a publicity. I had some ideas, but I couldn't do it with word or excel or anything on the office program. But I needed to create something.
I'm here to show you today a website that can save your life when you start doing some marketing.
So, first of all, the name of the website is Canva. You can find it by tapping the URL: canva.com in the address bar, if you type it right, you're supposed to arrive at this page.
Let me guide you a little bit in the site. First of all, I assume that y'all won't be signed in when you arrive on the site, just be sure that this is the logo on the site you're in. So, you can just create an account, it's really easy, and simple to do, and it's also free! When your account is created, you arrive here. When you click on the main menu in the top left corner of the screen you find all the projects you already started, the groups you're in, some templates if you don't have any ideas of what to do and the trash can if you delete things, and you want them back. Now let me show you the nicest thing on the site. When you come here, on the navigation menu you find all the tools you need for your publicity with all the good dimensions for them. For example, you have a Facebook post, a Facebook cover, an Instagram post, a Facebook and Instagram story and even more.
If we take a Facebook post for example, it opens a new tab with the Facebook post you want to create. If I want to create a publicity to hire for a company for example, I'll write in the searching tab « hire » and they will show me a lot of examples. You can take one of them and change it or create your one with the withe board. If you want to do your own publicity, you can use the navigation menu on the left hand side of the screen to add some drawing, some forms, some text and some pictures. You also change all the colors if you want to. You can really do what you want, the only limit you have is your imagination. When you're done with your post, you can share it by clicking on the share button in the top right corner of the screen, and you can then download it on your computer, share it directly on Facebook or you can even print it also when you click on the more button you have a lot of others' option to publish you creation.
