Hi everyone, my name is Mégane. I have been studying in the program of Letters and Communication cinema option for two years at the Cegep of Saint-Hyacinthe. In this program, we do a lot of different things, and the one that I prefer to do is to write scripts. That’s why I want to become a scriptwriter.

Like a lot of people who write scripts, I find difficult to correctly write the script of a movie in the application Word.

Even though I have not finished my studies, I have been writing scripts for about five years now.

I have made around twenty scripts for movies, and one of them has been presenting at the movie theater of Beloeil for a college competition.

My goal today is to show you how to use the Celtx Online Script Writing website.

The big problem with making a script is that there is a specific structure to follow. Your script also needs to be original, interesting, and error-free.

If your script is not following the good structure and have error, the directors will not be interesting to use it for making a movie.

For example, you might forget to describe the actions of the characters. Then, the readers don’t know what the characters are doing and then, can’t make a movie with only the dialogues.

But don’t worry, I will show you how to use the Celtx Online Script Writing website. It will help you to follow the good structure for a script and then write it correctly.

First, open a new tab. Type in the address bar the URL Celtx dot com and hit “enter”. When it’s done, you should see this page.

At the top right corner of the screen, you can see the link to sign up or login if you already have an account. Once you have login or sign up, you will see the home page with different menus.

On the left menu, you also have a lot of buttons. The first one, like it says in his name, is to create a new script. When you click on it, it has tree possibilities that are showed. The first one is for “film and TV”, the second one for “Multi-Column AV” and the last one for “Stageplay”. My goal today is to show you how this website will help you to create a good script in cinema, so we will click on the first one. Now it’s time to create a name for your script. For the example, we going to name it “Script”. After, you click on the button “create project” and it will open a document to write your script. For now, we going to close the left menu by simply click anywhere on the tab and we going to look at the top left corner of the screen where it’s writing “scene heading”. This button serves to write each part of the script with the good structure. Example we write “this is an example for my screencast” in the text area. If it’s the scene heading of the script, we going to leave it like that. If it’s an act, we will change it by clicking on “act”. Same thing if it’s an action, a character, a dialogue, a parenthetical, a transition, a shot or a text. At the button left corner of the screen, it has the goal of the day. The number of words you want to write today is written, you can change it for the goal you want. It also has the number of pages and words. Also, it has two timers, one for the time you take to write and the other one for thinking.
