For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Medicine program, let me explain what this program is all about. We take courses at a university that offers this program, like the University of Montreal, which teach us all about the anatomy of each specific area of the human body in order to then apply our knowledge in real time in our external years. The studies in this program last about 6 years. I haven’t started yet, but I'm really motivated to go all the way
There is a problem. You like me know that doctors are very efficient and their memory capacity is impressive, but it is still difficult for a doctor to diagnose a patient from his or her symptoms without forgetting one possible diagnosis. Every day there is new medical diagnoses in the bible of diagnosis, and sometimes it is only one symptom that differs between two diagnoses, and they are having completely different cures. Because all of that, doctors need a solution, this is imperative.
If you make a diagnosis's mistake, a patient could die because of it.
If you can't explain well why you didn't think about the right diagnosis, you will lose credibility, and maybe your right of practice.
This can be a tough situation. But don't you worry I have found the solution, and it is named ChatGPT.
First, open your browser. Type this URL into the address bar and hit enter. If you typed the URL correctly, you will see this page. You need to create an account to access the chatGPT website. Then, you will be redirected to the main page which is this one.
At the top of the screen in the middle there is the logo. In the middle, there are three sections to help you understand the principle of ChatGPT. In the first section you can view some example of what you can ask AI, the model who will respond to you. In the second section you can see some of the capacity of models, and next to this box there are the principal limitations of models.
At the bottom of the screen in the middle, you can see the text area. This is the place where you put your question.
To the right of this box, so in the bottom right corner of the screen, there is the submit button. By clicking on it, you will send your question to ChatGPT's model.
In the top left corner of the screen there is the option "new chat". Whenever you are on a conversation, and you want to ask a complete different question, you just have to click there, and ChatGPT will save your precedent conversation on the area just below.
Finally, in the bottom left corner of the screen is the navigation menu that offer four options. By clicking on the top one, you can pass to the premium version. This is something that have cost monthly. Below it you can choose your screen mode. Either the dark mode or the light mode, it's your choice. Below it there is the update and FAQ button. It is a really helpful section if you don't understand the principle of ChatGPT or you have a specific question. The last button at the bottom of the page is the one you use when you have finished asking your questions to ChatGPT, and you want to logout.
Here is where you write your patient's symptoms. I had already written a list of symptoms on another page, so I'm going to paste it there. I will click submit buttons, and then ChatGPT will take an instance to analyze it. After a few seconds, the response from ChatGPT appears, and the solution of your problem too. You can see the list of possible diagnoses. You can scroll down to the bottom of his answer, and you will find a very important section that says the patient must see a specialist and not just rely on that list. That means ChatGPT is a good option for getting an idea of something, but his answer shouldn't be completely trusted as a real diagnosis for example. However, further research can be done based on these symptoms as a health professional.
This is how you can take the load off your shoulders by verifying that you have not forgotten any possible diagnosis.
