Hi, welcome to my screencast. My name is Laury. I am a student in the art, literature and Communications program.

Today, I’ll explain to you how you can access to many resources near your house for free, such as books, movies, and more.

First, you have to search on the internet for a library near you.

I’ll give you an example with a library who is located in Montreal.

It is sometimes hard to find good resources for free.

If you don’t have any idea where to go, you can ask at tones of places without a positive answer.

This is an incredible lost of time if you’re running late for a school work.

But with the help of the internet, you can find what you need, without leaving your home before you know exactly where to find the thing you are looking for.

First, go on google map and find a library near your location. If you are in Montreal, there’s one called the Westmount Public Library located on Sherbrooke avenue. Once you’re on the site, turn it in English. Now, scroll down. At the bottom of the screen, you can see a purple menu. Click on the word "address". As you can see on this page, there’re indications on
how to find the place.

Now, go back on the home page by clicking on the word "home" in the navigation menu. To do that, scroll up. Find the bar menu and click on the word "home". In the upper left corner of the screen, you can see the logo. In the right hand side of the screen, you can see the opening hours.

Now. To find the resource you are looking for, place your cursor in the searching bar at the top of the screen in the middle. Click with your mouse and use the keyboard to do research. You can add a keyword if you want to be more precise. I’ll write "Harry Potter" and restrict the research by title. As you can see, I have some result in French. To avoid that, you will click on "advanced search", at the top of the searching bar. Now, there are many options. Click on the first arrow, and select "English". You can also choose a format or a publication year. If you find what you were looking for, you can click on "reserve", enter the appropriate information, and go to the library when it’s open.

So, you know how to find all the resources you could need for free.
