I will learn how to run a farm because I am going to ensure the succession from a vegetables' producer.
Nobody can predict the weather, so everybody needs to use The Weather Network site. Today I am going to talk about this weather's site, and I hope you will enjoy it.
Today, my plan is to show you how The Weather Network's Site works. It is very important, because without it a farmer could lose a lot of money.
Let me explain the problem. To start, in agriculture we need to know the weather because we have to organize our week, so we have to know when the weather is going to be nice or bad. So, we will know the number of workers we will need or for example, the day when we can spread the pesticides on the cow corn.
If we don't get the weather right a farmer can lost a lot of money.
For example, if it rains, and you called ten workers you have to pay them for three hours even if they don't work, because of the bad weather. In addition, rain can cause infestations, so in order to protect the plants we sometimes have to spread some products before the rain. So, if we don't know the weather, we could lose our harvest by an infestation.
First, open your browser. Type The Weather Network into the address bar and hit enter. If you typed the URL correctly, you will see this page. So, you click on the web page to enter the site. If you prefer, this site can also be downloaded on electronic devices. Today as I'm on my computer, I'll take the website instead of the application.
At the top of the screen in the middle there is the URL address that you wrote in the address bar. In the top left corner there is The Weather Network's logo. At the bottom of the logo, you have a settings' menu. In the top right corner of the screen there is a button to to choose your language. At the left of the language's button there are two buttons where you can choose if you want to have the weather in degrees Celsius or in degrees Fahrenheit. In the middle of the screen you can decide if you want to have the weather over a period of seven days, fourteen days or hourly, it is your choice. Now, if, you scroll down a little bit you can see the popular locations. But, to search a specific location, you have to go in this text area to write the country that you are locking for.
I am more used to work with degrees Celsius, so we will click on the Celsius button. After, we will choose our language. I am from Canada, and I want this site in English, so we will click here. The farm that I work for is located in Saint-Damase, so to make this example we will search on this text area Saint-Damasse. Now, if I want to plan my week I need to click on the seven days button. On the first image you see in big what is the temperature right now. On this icons there is an image of the weather outside. There, there is a smaller number, who represent the temperature felt. The Weather Network is a good site, because you can also know the sunrise and the sunset. It allows us to bring our workers from sunrise. When you scroll down, you arrive at a figure chart. This is very important for a farmer because we plan our week with that figure chart. We can see if it announces rain, sun or clouds. With this figure we can approximately tell our workers what days we need them, and we can also determinate the days we need them, and we can also determinate the days when we have to water our harvests du to drought or the days when we have to spray products to limit insect infestations.
So, if you are in agriculture or a related field, that’s how you solve the problem of the unforeseen events related to temperature. I just explained The Weather Network site, but there are other sites if you want to see the weather.
