Why is Canva useful for teachers?

Introduction

Hello! My name is Victoria. I am currently studying Social Science at the cegep of Saint-Hyacinthe. Once I'm done with that, I want to become a teacher. For those who don't know about teaching, if you want your students to stay focused, you need to have an interesting PowerPoint! That will keep the students engaged and active in their learning process.

I'm pretty sure nobody wants to teach to a class that is not listening to you. I mean, it is kind of discouraging for the teacher. Don't you think if the class is more entertaining, fun and interactive, it makes it more enjoyable for the teacher and for the students, am I right? I get it that sometimes, there are some subjects that you can't make interesting, but you have to do it ether way. That's why by creating a good PowerPoint can help with that.

I have been studying in the program that I am right now for almost two years, and I will admit, I have never been really good during presentations in front of my class which is kind of ironic that I want to become a teacher. I have been researching different ways to help me guide myself and the people listening to me while I'm presenting something, and I found a few tips.

My goal is to demonstrate you how to make a class more fun for everybody in the class.

Stay right there. It'll only take about 3 to 5 minutes. Get ready to follow my step-by-step tutorial. Click the "like" button and subscribe to my Chanel if you want to see more content like this.

I have a surprise for you at the end of my talk, so stay tuned.

The Problem

As I explained a little bit before, it can be difficult to make a class or a presentation for school entertaining. Sometimes, the subject may not be really interesting for some people.

If you make a PowerPoint that is boring, so like black writing on a white canvas, that can lead the students to not listen after 5 minutes of talking which is not the goal of teaching

For example, suppose you need to present a philosopher, that can be hard to make your content fun for others to listen.

In order for it to be enjoyable for others, I have the solution that you need. I'll show some tips and tricks to solve this problem.

The Quest

To start off, open your browser. Type this URL into the address bar and hit enter. If you typed the URL correctly, you will see this page

At the top of the screen, there's a navigation menu where you can find some tutorials, some useful resources, different designs, etc. In the top right corner of the screen, you have your account settings and a button where you can create a design. In the middle of the screen, there's a text area where you can type what kind of topic or what type of canvas you want to work on. Underneath that, there're different options (icons) of templates you can use.

The Solution

Now here is where you want to go to find the solution to the specific problem I mentioned before. Click on the purple button in the top right corner of the screen where it says, "create a design". Once you click on that, it will bring you on another page. On the left side of the screen, you will see multiple options of templates. You the one that you like the most. As you can see, they're all colorful, vibrant, and all have different themes which I think is very fun. Some of the templates' move! Let's pick this one for this example. When you click on the one you prefer the most, you can see that all the PowerPoint is already done for you! You just have to fill it in with your information and the job is pretty much all done. It is that simple. Once you're done, you press on the "share" button in the top right corner of your screen. Then, you have different options you can choose from. If you want to download the project you just made, just scroll down with your mouse until you find the option to download.

The Conclusion

So, if you are in teaching or a related field, that's how you solve the problem of having a boring presentation. I promised I would show you how to do so, and I did it using the website Canva.

I hope that was useful to you because I need you to do something for me.

Before I finish, I want you to click the subscribe and the bell so that you don't miss my next video, and then take a moment to share this tutorial on social media. Thanks for watching.
