Hi everyone, my name is Elisabeth Lafleur. I've been in Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention program for two years, but I'm going to university next semester, to study psychology. I want to exercise clinical psychology, which is having regular patients and help them with their problems, whatever they are.
For those who don't know, most clinics require you to be bilingual after you graduate to get the job.
For my case, I speak English well, but I really need to improve it for my field of study.
You might be confused about all those words you need to learn related to psychology, precisely the pronunciation. This website, Virtual Writing Tutor, can help you be sure of the pronunciation and the spelling of those words.
I'll show you step-by-step how to get familiar with this, so stay here, it'll only take 3 minutes.
You'll be surprised of how easy it is to use this.
Most of the books you're studying in the bachelor are in English. It will not be long learning psychology terms, but you might be unsure of their pronunciation and their spelling because a lot of words seems the same as in French in this field of study.
It could really affect your grades if you don't get it right.
Imagine you're doing an oral presentation, in English of course and you mispronounce a word because when you learned it in your book you thought it was the same pronunciation as in French because it was the same spelling, for example, the word cognition.
If you're using this website as a help, you can be sure it ain't going to happen.
You first need to open your browser and type virtualwritingtutor.com and hit the enter. The website will appear on your screen.
You don't need to create an account if you just want to check your grammar or your pronunciation, but if you would like to create a glossary related to psychology for example, in the top right corner you have the button Login, you click on it and create an account. In the middle of the screen you have a blank space where you put your text, or your words you want to check. On the navigation menu you have all the options you could do with what you wrote in the blank space. Scroll to the bottom of the page if you're not sure of how to use every blue buttons, and it explained each of it.
So now, about what I said earlier about the wrong grammar and the bad pronunciation of some psychology terms, here is the solution. For example, you write in the blank space the word ''anxiety'', because you're not sure of the pronunciation. You click on the sound icon on the right of the blank space and the word will be pronounced correctly. Now, if you're not sure of the spelling of a word, for example you write dellusion, and you click on the check grammar button on top, it will automatically scroll down to the feedback, where it indicates the error, which in this case is putting two ''L''.
If you're studying psychology too, that is how you can finally be sure of all the pronunciation and spelling of those words. I did what I said I would do, with the help of the website Virtual Writing Tutor.
I hope my tutorial was useful to you. In return, if you liked it, I need you to click on subscribe and the bell to get notified when I post another video, probably about my field of study too and share it on social media if you think this can be useful to others too. Thank you for watching.
