Hello everyone! My name is Vicky Bellemare. I am currently studying Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention at Ahuntsic College. I have been studying in this program since 2020. I am finishing my fourth semester in this program. If you don't know about Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention, I will quickly explain what this program involves. Overall, this program teaches us how to interact with certain clienteles, such as children, drug abusers, mentally ill, imprisoned or homeless people. We learn how to recognize different types of problems, talk to our clients and try to improve their situation by supporting and supervising them.

Like you, I don't want to be embarrassed and have a hard time trying to communicate.

I'm not an expert, but since my program is based on communication, I have always been motivated to learn better ways to express myself.

I have done a successful internship where most people I was in contact with only spoke English.

Today, my plan is to tell you all about the Virtual Writing Tutor, so you can get a quality education and get familiar with specific words that are important in your field of study.

The problem with education is that people fail to understand that English is a common language and that it is important for students to learn the terms that are related to our chosen field of study. Students need a proper bilingual education.

If we don't get a proper education in English, as well as our first language, we could lose credibility and fail to help others.

For example, since my courses are always in French, I've had trouble finding the correct terms to use in English when speaking to professionals during my internships. In the future, I won't be talking to a professional, I will be one. Imagine that you are trying to help a client understand the rules of a certain community-based organization, and that you don't know how to answer their questions.

To avoid something similar to happen to you, I know just what to do. In the next few minutes, I'll show you the exact solutions.

First, open a new tab in your browser. In the address bar, type the URL "virtualwritingtutor.com" and hit "Enter".

If you maximize your screen, you will see a link to login, in the top right corner of the screen. Once you have created an account or simply logged in, you will see, in the top left corner, settings menu, where you can find all about the tools provided by the Virtual Writing Tutor.

Now, here is how you can help improve your English.
Once you have created an account or simply logged in on the Virtual Writing Tutor web page, you can open a new tab and look for a web page, such as Wikipedia or any other documentation, concerning your field of study. In that same new tab, select some of the words you would like to learn, and hit the right button on your touch pad or mouse and press "copy".
Now, if you go back to the Virtual Writing Tutor page and maximize your screen, you will see, at the top of the screen in the middle, a link to "Writing Tools". If you scroll down, you can see the "Glossary Creator" button. After you press on "Glossary Creator", you can start learning words related to your field of study.
The first step is to add a new title and press on the "New Glossary" button that will be in the middle left part of your screen. Then, you can paste some of the words you selected from other web pages and learn the meaning, pronunciation, translation and more!

So, if you are in Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention or any other field of study, you now know how to solve the educational problem and improve your communication.
