Roxane's screencast

Introduction

Hi! Welcome to my video. My name is Roxane Beaulieu, and I am a student at Ahuntsic College.

For those of you who don’t know about myself, I have been studying in Pre-Hospital Emergency Care for 2 years. I chose that program because I wanted to be in the medical field. I wanted to move a lot, and don't have the same daily task. This program has a lot of courses that teaches us how to appreciate, and interpret the patient's condition. After, we are able to formulate relevant clinical hypotheses and provide medical and traumatic care.

For those of you who don't know about the career in the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care, there are a lot of things that must change to allow the advancement of the profession. The salary should be much higher for what the paramedics do.

Nowadays, it's very difficult for everyone to have reliable sources of information. Nobody wants to have untrustworthy information in this very important domain. We all want to be trust, everybody wants to know the sources of the information. Don't you think it is something very important? Right? In the paramedical field, there is a website called "prehospitabilierquebec.ca".

I have been studying English since I was 5 years old.
I'm not the best at speaking in English, but I am very good at listening.

I have been having very good grades this years.

My goal is to help people in my program having better grades with reliable information.

Stay with me on this video, and don't forget to click to subscribe. You can click like, and get comfortable to watch the continuation.

Stay for the end of the video for a surprise. You will be amazed on how this website can be helpful.

The Problem

Let me explain the problem.

If we don't get the right information, the patient can suffer from our disinformation. We will also make bad impression in front of everyone that trusted us. If we are not able to explain what we are doing, we will lose credibility.

For example, as a paramedic, I am supposed to know that I have to do 30 compression, and two ventilation in order for an adult victim of a cardiac arrest to have a good oxygenation. If I don't know that, the victim can die of it.

That can be difficult. But don’t worry. I have found the solution. In the next few minutes, I’ll show you exactly how to solve this problem.

The Quest

First, open your browser. Type www.prehospitalierquebec.ca into the address bar and hit enter. If you typed the URL correctly, you will see this page.

In the top right corner you can see little logo that live you to sections of the website. In the middle of the screen you see a picture of a paramedic team. On the navigation menu, you have access to a lot of other sections. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will be able to see information on what to do in case of an emergency, who to become a paramedic, and a lot of other stuff.

The Solution

When you need information, you click on the section «Extranet», in the to right corner. You have to log in. In the middle of the screen, you have to select «PIC-TAP». This will give you access to all of the information that you need to treat a patient.

The Conclusion

I promised I would show you how to have reliable information, and I did it using the website «Préhospitalier Québec».

I hope that this video was useful to you! See you on my next video.
