Welcome everybody. My name is Alysha. I have been studying in Psychology for four semesters now. This field of study in college focuses more on Psychology courses and anything that have to do with explaining the human behaviour in its environment. However, studying psychology could lead you to many other career paths, like social worker, psychologist, anthropologist, etc. Personally, I chose to become a psychologist. Psychology consists of studying the human behaviour and mind.
In psychology there is a variety of words that may seem complicated for people who are not familiar with the field of study. But more particularly, in this kind of program, there’s a lot of writing to do. There will be a lot of reading and research papers to complete. Good writing is a primary asset to have, and it can be challenging.
First thing first, open your browser, and type in the URL www.virtualwritingtutor.com in your address bar. Once you get in, you will see many features in the navigation bar at the top screen under the website logo. You can click on "writing tools". It will show a lot of options. One of my favorite features is “ glossary creator ”. You can find any type of glossary in here, even in your own field of study. This tool is very helpful to get familiar with new vocabulary words. You can even create your own glossary. In the middle of the screen, you will see a blank text area. This right here is very useful if you want to correct or even auto evaluate text you’ve written. In the right bottom corner of the text area, you can see different icons. There is a microphone, which is the speech button feature. By clicking on it, it will read out loud what you have written in the text area.
Now in order to solve our little issue I mentioned in the begging. The text box area is going to be your best friend. Its many features have been very helpful to me. If you are writing a sentence with complicated words in it, and you’re not sure your grammar is correct. Type it in, and click the “check grammar” button in the top of the text box area. For example, I have to write the concept “cognitive dissonance”, and I am not sure how to write or pronounce it. That’s when this tool comes in play. You type in your sentence or word. You click the “grammar check” feature, and it would notify you if there’s any mistake. If you want to know how pronounce it, just click on the microphone icon in the bottom left corner of the text area, and it will pronounce it out loud for you. Also, you can even verify your sentence punctuation by clicking on the option.
Correcting longs essays or texts can be long and complicated. Virtual Writing Tutor's tools can make it easier for anybody who need a little help. I use them all the time.
