Accounting and Management Technology

Introduction

Hi, my name is Josianne Younes, I am 18 years old, and I have been studying Accounting and Management Technology for more than a year. This program is all about money, assets and how to manage transactions that have not been completed yet or will never be completed. We need to be super professionals with all our journal entries.

Making sure that there is no error in our journal entries can be hard sometimes, especially when we use words that are not super familiars to us. Writing emails for our superiors also requires to be professional and to not make errors, such as grammar or spelling mistakes.

My goal with the screencast I am currently making is to help you avoid mistakes that are made without you giving attention to them.

It won’t last long, so pay attention to what I am about to present you, it will definitely be useful in your future.

The Problem

Let’s imagine this scenario: you are at your job, minding your own stuff and working on your computer, making some journal entries for a company and your boss comes in. He asks you to write an email to a company saying that the contract with it will end soon, because they did not pay for the services you guys gave to the company.

At first, you hesitate a bit, by fear of not sending an email that is as good as your boss thinks you can do. You are scared of making a lot of mistakes in your email which won’t make it seem professional. After thinking twice, you accept the request your boss asked you.

You need to find a way to correct your email before sending it to the company.

I am about to tell you the solution for this sort of problem.

The Quest

To solve this problem and every problem that is related to grammar or spelling mistakes, there is a website called Virtual Writing Tutor. First, you need to open your web browser at the bottom of your screen, it is usually in the bottom left corner of your screen. Now, type in the address bar or in the search bar at the top the following URL: VirtualWritingTutor.com and press enter. This link will lead you to the website. To make sure that you are on the good website, you should see in the top left corner of your screen the logo of the website.

Right under it, you can see the navigation menu that presents you things that you can do on the website. If you would like to share your text, you can. If you check in the top right corner, you will see icons that represent all the platforms where you can share your text by creating links. To write your text, you just need to type it in the input box that can be found in the center of the screen. In the text area, we can see that there are some instructions telling us to type, speak or copy-paste our text. In the bottom right corner of the text area, there are some icons such as the microphone to help us with our pronunciation. Just above the text area, you can find these three buttons (word count, check grammar and clear, etc). These buttons will help you correct your text. Right under the logout button, you will find the setting menu. You can use the icon of the microphone under the text area when have finished your text so the website can read it out loud for you. The dropdown menu is right next to the logout button. It contains accordion and is collapsible.

The Solution

For example, let's write sentences in the text area in the middle of the screen, that contain errors. The words that are underlined with blue or red are the words that contain a mistake. To correct the words that have a mistake, just simply need to right click on the word selected and all the suggestions to correct it will appear. Then you just need to redo the same operation with all the words that are underlined with these two colors.

The Conclusion

That's about my screencast. Just to remind you, my goal was to help you guys find a way to correct your texts to make you seem as a professional as possible. Since I discovered this website, I always use it when I type texts.

Now that you know all the tools to correct your mistakes, let's see what you have learned from my screencast.
