Probably many people, included myself aren't one hundred percent sure about their writing. So, today, I am going to show you how to use a website that allows you to check your grammar errors, efficiently.
It's my first semester in the program Social Science at Ahuntsic College. What I like about this program is that it provides an opportunity to explore many career field options. The subject that interests me the most in this program is psychology. That's the reason why I would like to be a Social Worker in the future. Which is basically a person that helps many types of clients cope with their problems and tries to improve their well-being. A Social Worker will try to find solutions by researching and referring their clients to community resources. I'll need to write down reports informing my colleagues and other specialist that will be helping my clients.
That could be a challenge because there are some difficult words related to psychology. I want to be able to communicate professionally with my colleagues so, I have to write them correctly.
Now, Let's start with the tutorial.
First, let's open a new tab and in the address bar which is at the top of the screen in the middle, type the URL which is Virtual Writing Tutor dot com.
In the top right corner of the screen, there are some icons if you'd like to share the website on any social media.
In the top left corner of the screen, there's the website logo.
Just under the logo there's the navigation menu if you'd like to learn more about the website.
Just under the navigation menu there's the buttons that allows you to do many things on this website.
Right in the middle of the screen is the text area where you can write the text you'd like to correct.
On the bottom of the text area there's the microphone and speech buttons that can help you either test your pronunciation or hear the correct form to pronounce a word.
Personally for my field of study, the most important tool on this website is the grammar checker. You can write a sentence you would like to have on a report. For example, This marginalized community couldn't get a proper help. Right away you can see I've made a spelling mistake because of the red underline, if you click on the check grammar it will tell you your word count, the number of paragraph you have, the amount of errors, and it will calculate your error density. In this case I misspelled a word so, it will identify my error, give me some feedback, tell me what kind of error I've made and a suggestion. The correct answer is marginalized. Now I can go and correct my sentence. If, I need some help with my pronunciation I can click on the speech icon and hear the correct way to pronounce it.
So, with this website I can now pronounce complex words related to my field of study as well as write them correctly.
