Welcome everybody! My name is Gabrielle and I have been studying Pre-Hospital Emergency Care for the last 3 years. For those who aren’t familiar about this program, I’ll just explain what it involves. We learn how to take care of the health of a patient in different situations for example a trauma, a breathing problem, a chest pain, etc. So, we take care of a patient while bringing him to the hospital.

Sometimes, a patient will only understand and speak English. So, it can be hard to express ourselves and the medical terms we usually use.

During my english program, I learned about a website that can help with the pronunciation of words.
First, you need to open your browser. In the address bar type the URL “virtual writing tutor dot com” and press enter.
This page will open.
In the middle of the screen, you have the text area where you can put a text or only a word.
In the bottom right corner of the text area, you have the speaker.

Now lets do an example.
You are not sure how to pronounce the word epinephrine or edema.
You just open the website, go to the text area in the middle of the screen, write the word epinephrine or edema, click on the speaker logo and listen to the pronunciation.
You can also do that with a sentence.
For example, I will give you some epinephrine.
Write it down and click on the speaker logo.
And there you go, you can listen to any pronunciation of any words.
