Virtual Writing Tutor Description

Introduction

Hi everyone! It's me, Jessica Zoey.As you know, I've just finish my 3 year's technical program in special education. In this fabulous program, I was learned how to make intervention and rehabilitation with a broad spectrum of clienteles. As a special educator, we work with a lot of people and some don't understand French more particularly in Montreal. So even if English is not our mother tongue, we are encouraged to communicate in English regularly. That is why today, I'll present you a great website to correct your English writing : Virtual Writing Tutor.

Nobody wants to have embarrassing errors in their writing, particularly when it's for work. I you want to be professional, made a good impression and avoid misunderstood when you communicate in English, This website could become your best friend!

So, at first, how look the website? On a pure white and blue theme, you found a user-friendly presentation. In the top left corner of the screen, you can see the logo. At the top of the screen in the middle it's the navigation menu where is all the applications for the website including the login button at the extreme right. Be aware that you can get an account for free which is a great advantage.

Of course, today I will focus on the main tool, the text corrector; but I invite you to explore the site further to make some great discovery.

In the middle of the screen you can see the text area. Just above the text area we found the tools' menu to correct the text. In the far right of this menu, we found an accordion button where you can click to open more tools. By passing your cursor over the different tabs, you will find a short description of its use.

Let's practice! At first, insert or write directly your text in the text. For example:this is an red applle. When your text is ready to correct, click ''Check Grammar'' to find the errors in the text. Use the scroll bar to find all of your errors. For each, you'll find 3 or 4 point. First the error you wrote in the sentence context. In second, A feedback explaining to you the grammar behind your error. In third, the error type, and for some in fourth, suggestion for your correction. All you have to do is apply the correction and check again.

The use is the same for each tool. Click, verify and correct. Easy, isn't it?

I'm at the beginning of my career, but I have already realized during my final internship, how I'll to be lead to communicate with English people during the time I'll work in Montreal. If I can easily be understood when I spoke, as an intern I was realized the importance of a no mistake text when you wrote to an angry parent.

The Conclusion

For my career, the website Virtual Writing Tutor, will probably still in on my bookmark bar! I'll use it for my e-mail redaction when I communicate with allophones and English speaker parents or tutor. It will be useful to for preparing interview with them or their children, just to be sure I transmit the good's information and be sure to make my expectations and interventions clearly understood.
