Welcome my friends. My name is Adam I go to Montmorency College in Laval Quebec. I am doing a program of technology in civil engineering. It's a three-year program. Besides my technical subjects, I also have the opportunity to improve my English in this program. However, I still have lots of difficulties when it comes to writing in English. Recently my English teacher showed us a very useful tool that we can use to correct our English mistakes. It's called virtualwritingtutor.com. I am sure this site will help anyone who has difficulties in English grammar and vocabulary when writing. So, I am going to show you how to use this tool to make your life easier.

When you finish your studies and enter to the job market you need to be bilingual in this field. There are lots of English technical words we use as a technician or an engineer in civil engineering. Also, some times you may work or even have to correspond with a client in another province where they speak only English. So, if, there are lots of mistakes in your corresponds it will not look very professional. So, it is very important to write correct English. For this reason, I highly recommend that you follow my instructions in the virtual writing tutor.

To start, open the website by adding a new tab. In the address bar, at the top of the screen is the menu. Then, you tap the URL, Virtualwritingtutor.com. On the top right side of the screen there are some icons you can use this if you want to share your website on any social media. In the top left corner of the screen there is a logo. Just under the logo there is the navigation menu if you want to learn more about the website. Just under the navigation menu, there are instructions how to use the website. Right in the middle of the screen is the "Text area" where you right your text that you want to correct. There is a microphone and speech buttons if you want to know how to pronounce a word correctly.

For me, the most important is the spelling checker and grammar check. For example, "One of the task of civil enginers is to over see construction and maintenance of building structures". Click "check spelling" and misspelled words will be an underline in red, then left click on that word to see the suggestions. Also, you can check your grammar by clicking "Check Grammar". The results will be listed below the text area and also the suggested corrections. Also, this site can help you if you don't know how to pronounce a word correctly. To do this I just type the word in the "text area". For example, word "anchorage" and click on the "speech button" and it will give me the correct pronunciation. By doing this, I learn how to pronounce a complex word as well as how to correctly write it.
