Hi. My name is Emilie Trudel. I am studying Accounting and Management Technology. I want to go to university in accounting. I plan to do a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Specialized Path in Accounting. At this moment, I’m doing my second session at CEGEP. So, I’m not in university yet, I still have five sessions before I graduate. In this program, we play with numbers, like we are the ones who deal with the payroll, purchases, statements of account of the company and everything related to amounts. In my future job, we work a lot with software and less with websites. We use a lot of the information sites for provincial and federal taxes. For the moment, I have not used a site in my field of study. However, after talking to my aunt, who is an accountant, I might use the website of the business register. All companies in Quebec are registered on this website and must keep the information up to date. Companies that don't have registrations can get sanctions. Finally, it is important to do at the beginning and to renew it every year for an accountant.
This site is called Quebec's registry of businesses. He protects companies and associations by enforcing laws on business activities. The Business Registrar offers certain services online. For example, make payments or requests and then follow up. Therefor, it's often accountants who are mandated by their company to keep this information up to date. So, I will, probably, have to do this task using this website.
In the browser of your choice, open a new tab and after, in the address bar, write this URL: registreentreprises.gouv.qc.ca/en/default.aspx.
At the top of screen in the middle, you can see the navigation menu where you can choose what you want to do. In this one, you can consult an enterprise's file, start an enterprise or modify information about it. After that, for each section, there are new choices. Furthermore, there is a way to simply make a payment, and this on the right-hand side of the screen.
