What are the components of an industrial building

Introduction

Hi, my name is Aymen-Abdelkarim Sayad. I am 19 years old, and I study civil engineering at Montmorency College. I am now in my fifth session in this program, and I am loving it. Civil engineering is a vast field that involves mainly building, working with different professionals and solving all kind of problems. Some of the typical courses in this program are steel structure, reinforced concrete structures, soil courses or a municipal sewer network course. This program can lead to all type of careers such as laboratory technician or field technician with the college diploma or to structural engineer, architect, project manager and many more if I continue my studies at university.

The Problem

One of the challenge that the students in this program encounter is to have access to online courses to help get a better understanding when studying alone.

The Quest

To overcome this challenge, there is a website called Seeing Structures that contains all sort of useful information for this program. Let's start with the features. So, at the top left of the screen is the logo, while at the top right is the search bar. In the middle, there are four sections. Firstly, there is the ''Statics'' section. This section contains multiple lessons with images to help get a better understanding. Secondly, there is the ''Mechanics of Materials'' section. This section has also a bunch of lessons with images, but also some 3D models that help to visualize the learning. Thirdly, we have the ''Structural Analysis'' section that contains 3D models that demonstrate some structural reactions. Lastly, there is the ''Construction'' section that has 3D models of whole buildings.

The Solution

The Conclusion

This website is really interesting because it is not easy to find lessons on civil engineering. This website gives the possibility to learn many lessons with a lot of images and maybe a different explanation from the one learned in class, that might be even better.
