Hi everyone! My name is Annika. Today I will show you how to use correctly an online grammar checker and teller. I have been studying Natural Science for two years at Ahuntsic College. For those of you who don’t know about the Natural Sciences program, I’ll just explain what this program involves. We take courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, which teach us how the human body works and how to understand different scientific concepts. A part of this program that interests me the most is the medical side. The human body and is function interest me a lot. I would like to be a nurse in the future. A nurse is a trained healthcare professional who care for the sick or injured.
Like a lot of people I have difficulty to memories and say hard terms that are often use in a medical job. It's normal because not a lot of people are often going to use these types of words.
I still have a lot to learn, but I am really motivated to improve because being a nurse is my dream job.
My plan is to demonstrate you how to solve that problem by using an online grammar checker and teller. It can always be useful by using Virtual Writing Tutor.
In a general program, we don’t learn the specific vocabulary related to each career we can pursue after graduation. So, we often don’t know some of the specific words used in these professions or how to pronounce them.
If you can’t say and remember these words well, you may lose credibility and have a harder time getting a job.
Imagine that you are working in a hospital and a physician gives you a diagnosis, but you don’t know how to pronounce the medical term when explaining it to your patient.
When that happens, I know just what to do, which I am going to show you now.
First, click on the plus button in the top-right corner of the screen to open a new browser. Then, type the URL for Virtual Writing Tutor into the address bar (virtualwritingtutor.com) and press Enter. If you typed the URL correctly, you will see this page.
In the top-left corner of the screen, there is the logo of the website. Right under the logo, there is the navigation menu. From there, you can access different tools and sections of the website.
In the middle of the screen, right under the navigation menu, we can see a sentence that lists some of the things that Virtual Writing Tutor can help us with. Under that, there is the text box where we can enter the text we want to correct.
In the bottom-right corner of the text box, we can see some small icons. Each one is useful for a different thing. We can click on them to either test our pronunciation or hear the correct way to pronounce a certain word.
For my field of study, the most important tool is the pronunciation tool.
First, in the text box, you can write the word that you have difficulty pronouncing and remembering. Then, you can click on the speaker icon.
It will automatically give me the correct pronunciation.
Then, to remember how to say the word, you can listen to the pronunciation and repeat the word by yourself.
This website can also correct your writing. So, if you want to practice memorizing words and make sure you spell them correctly, you can start by writing a sentence and then check if you wrote it correctly. I think it’s a great website to help with pronunciation and memorizing difficult words.
