Hello everybody, my name is Léïlou, and I am currently studying in special education techniques.
Being a Special education technician means helping and bring support to people, young and older, who need special needs or care.

Sometime, help people can be very difficult because sometimes people are complicate to understand or need some more specifics help or care, that's why the special education technician exists.

To help people correctly and with the good ethic, there are many rules and codes to follow, and sometime, especially, when you are just starting in the profession, it can be difficult to remember all of them, so it's important to know.

Do an error in The Special Care Counsellor Code of Conduct can lead to the suspension, loss of trust with the patient, or even be fired.

Example, a special education technician are helping a adult who have emotion problem and this person tell to the special education technician that he really want something , that's important to him, but he does'nt have money so he ask to the special education technician some money, she really want to help the patient but she's not sure if she can.

So, we arrive to the Quebec Association of Special Care Counsellors website. At the top of the page, there are many tabs that can lead us at some information. When we scroll down, there is a lot of information about the profession. If we go back up to the menu, this tab is the one we are interested in. When we click on it, we have access to the Code of Conduct page. On this page , it explains what is the Code of Conduct and at the end of the text, we have the link to the official Code of Conduct document.
