Solutions to Engineering Problems

Introduction

Hi everyone, my name is Bruno Martin, and I am a 2nd year student at the Cegep de Sherbrooke in Mechanical engineering technology

I find that some of the formulas used in machining are often a waste of time because there are easier solutions

Even tho that I am not an expert in machining because I am still learning it, but I already have done 4 classes about it, and I watch a lot of content about it on the internet. Let's say I have the basics to talk about it

I have completed the 3 machining processes classes in Cegep, and I am completing the Introduction to Numerical commands classes that are all related to machining

My goal will be to give you a quicker way to find the parameters when you are using conventional mills or lathe

I would like, if you guys could go try it because this website is life saving in the industry

You are going to find this easy and understandable website

The Problem

In mechanical engineering and in machining there are a lot of formulas for calculating speed and feeds of cutting tools, and they depend on the material you are machining, the size of the tool or the size of the part, the material of your tool, the number of teeth your tool has, and if there is a coating on your tool

This is a major lost of time and companies in this industry like when time is optimized to prevent lost of money

I'm a machinist and need to find the speed (rpm) and feed of my cutting tool and need to find all the information and plug it in formulas that are sometime to conservative on the speed and the feed. It may take me 5 minutes to calculate everything

I have the perfect solution to save time on both the calculations and the machining

The Quest

The website is called Fswizard, you can just search it in the search bar on google. There will be Fswizard:speed and feed that will appear you have to click on the link

You have to select the tool type, the tool material, the coating, the depth of cut, tool diameter and many more, then at the top you will see the other parameters adjust to give you all the information

The Solution

You will find your feed here, your rpm here etc

The Conclusion

I explained you guys how to be more time efficient when searching for your machining parameters on conventional lathes and mills

I would like, that you guys learn more about machining because it is a sector of the society that is not often talked about, and it is vital because cars, planes, pacemakers, phones, and a lot of other part of your daily life are made with this process
