Hi, my name is Mikael Moreau and I am a student in civil engineering at Collège Ahuntsic. I am currently in my last year and will be attending university next year.
One issue we face regarding English in my field is that we often need to make technical reports in both French and English. Canada is, as you all know, a bilingual country. In Quebec, we mainly speak french but, especially around the Montreal area, a lot of people speak English only. To make sure that everyone understands, everything needs to be translated.
I personally struggle the most with technical terms in English. I feel like this struggle is very common with people who don’t speak English as their first language. Despite this weakness, I am pretty good in conversational English.
I have personally done multiple summer interships in my field that required me to speak in English. I also currently work in my field while going to school.
My goal for this presentation is to demonstrate you all a way to use VirtualWritingTutor to have an easier time writing your technical reports in English.
Sit tight! My tutorial will only be a couple minutes long. Be sure to watch it to the end to get all of my tips and tricks. If you like my screencast, please leave a like and subscribe to my channel.
