How to make the study of biology easier?

Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Davina, and I have been studying in the Health and Life Sciences program at Thetford College for almost a year now. For those of you who may not know about this program, it includes courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics which help us better understand the human body and living systems.

Almost everyone in the Health and Life Sciences program is trying to get into very competitive university programs like medicine, pharmacy or nursing, so maintaining a strong academic record is extremely important. However, some courses like cell biology and anatomy require a lot of memorization, which can make studying more challenging, especially when you have many topics to review at the same time.

I’m not an expert yet, but I have been researching different tools that can help me study biology more effectively. Even though I have only been seeing this subject for a short time, I am very motivated to improve my understanding.

I am currently taking a cell biology course, and I have an average of 90% because I have developed strong strategies for studying and understanding complex biological concepts.

My goal is to show you how this online resource can help students study and better understand the subject.

Stay with me and follow this short tutorial to see how this website can help you study more effectively.

You’ll be surprised by how easy it can be to understand complex scientific concepts!

The Problem

The big problem when studying biology is that there is a lot of material to learn and many concepts are complicated.

Because of this, students may have difficulty understanding and studying the course material, which can lead to lower grades.

For example, you might struggle to visualize cell structures and biological processes when studying only from textbooks.

But don’t worry. In this tutorial, I will show you an online tool that can help to solve this issue.

The Quest

First, open your browser. Type the URL “cellsalive.fun” into the address bar and hit “Enter”. If you typed the URL correctly, you will see this page.

In the top left corner of the page, you can see the “ CELLS alive!” logo. At the top right of the screen, there is a navigation menu with options such as Contents, Explore, and Study. In the middle of the page, you will see several interactive sections, including interactive Cell Models, Cell Puzzles and Games, and Interactive Eukaryote Cell Cycle. These sections allow students to explore cell structures and biological processes. At the bottom of each section, you can find short descriptions that explain what each activity is about. For this tutorial, we will focus on the “Study” section of the website that we saw at the top right of the screen, so click on it.

The Solution

After clicking on “Study”, you will see a menu with several options such as Worksheets, Games/Puzzles, Quizzes, PowerPoints, and Glossary. First, click on “Worksheets”. This section contains printable PDF files that can help you review important topics in cell biology. For example, you can open worksheets about the animal cell model, plant cell model, bacteria cells, the cell cycle, mitosis, and meiosis. Next, go back to the Study menu and click on “Games/Puzzles”. In this section, you will find interactive activities such as memory matching games. These games allow you to practice identifying organelles, mitosis stages, and other biological structures in a fun way. Then, click on “Quizzes”. Here you can test your knowledge with quizzes on topics like cell biology, microbes, and the immune system. After that, click on “PowerPoints”. This section provides visual slides that explain important topics, which help to better visualize the structures and the processes studied in class. Next, click on “Glossary”. This page contains definitions of many biological terms organized alphabetically, which helps you quickly find and understand scientific vocabulary. Finally, click on “Site Map”. This page shows an overview of all the sections of the website, making it easier to navigate and find specific topics. By using these tools, you can review the material, test your knowledge, and better understand the concepts studied in class.

The Conclusion

I promised to show you a useful tool to make studying easier, and I did it using the website cellsalive.fun.
