My name is Jeremie, and I am studying in Civil Engineering Technology at Ahuntsic College.
I have been in the program for almost 4 years, and I am currently in my last semester.

In this program, we are seeing how to do structural design, how to control the quality of the materials, and how to plan construction projects.

In this video, my goal will be to show you a useful tool for a career in Civil Engineering Technology and for related fields.

As civil engineering technologist, we will have to write a lot of reports in English as in French. And reports must be faultless.

In a working context, making errors in a written reports can discredit someone in front of people, especially when the report is to be published for all to see it.

Imagine yourself as a civil engineering technologist. You have written a pertinent report. And just because of some errors of writing, people disqualify you. How would that feel?

For that reason, the grammar check tool of Virtual Writing Tutor would be very handy.
As I said earlier, I am going to show you how to use it.

Fist of all, you must go in the search bar of google and type "virtualwritingtutor.com".
It will lead you to this website where you will see the big logo at top left side of the screen.

Then, in the text box at the middle of the page, you will copy past the text that you want to grammar check.
And finally, you will click on the button "grammar check" just above the text box.

The website software will then show you these information :
The word count, the paragraph count, the error count and the error density in percentage.

And for each error that the website would have detected in the text, it will show you the way you wrote a sentence in particular and specific word in red, it will give you a feedback on what kind of mistake that you have made, the type of error that it is, and will give you suggestions on how you can improve your text for it to be correct.

By using this tool, not only you get out with a perfect text, but on top of that you learn your mistakes in a way that you will always remember them, and will be less likely to repeat them.

So, if you are a civil engineering technology or in a field that you will have to write reports, this tool is for you. And I promise you that if you use it, you will get grammatically great reports and also will improve you english writing exceedingly.
