How to learn vocabulary related to your field of study?

Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Alexandra and we going to learn something new in today's video. I am in Visual Arts, and this is my second year I have been studying in it. This program is to help students to become an artist by developing their skills and their own style. They use traditional arts which include drawing, painting, sculpting, and new one like photography, image numeric, arts video. At the end of it, you can become a contemporary artist, a teacher in arts or even a gallery owner.

No, one wants to be embarrassing because of their writing mistake, and I am pretty sure you do too.

Learning English never be a simple task for me, but I am decided to study my field of study for my work.

In my latest test this session in English, I never got under 85%.

My intention is to help you improve yourself in this language.

Stay focus and follow what I said step-by-step.

At the end of the video, you would be impressed by everything you learn in this tutorial.

The Problem

In the near future, you will have a job interview, and you will need to know every word you learns from your years of study in your specific field. You will not have the time to search the translation when it is one of the most important times of your life.

If that happen, you will probably lose an important opportunity in your business life.

For example, you apply to be a police officer, and they ask you about a specialized program in you have in your CV, but you do not remember the exact term in English.

To avoid this situation, I will do my best to give you the tools you need because I have the perfect solution.

The Quest

First, enter the website Virtual Writing Tutor in the address bar. In the proposition your browser give you, you will see on the left side where the icons are a robot. Click on the link.

This will send you to their main page. At the top of your page, you will see different word in white, and you need to select the accordion button Writing tools. Moreover, chose the option glossary creator.

The Solution

First, you will have to create a glossary title related to your field of study.If it is done, you select new glossary. In it, you have to write about your field of study, and you may create a little summary about why you create it. After, you can start creating your own dictionary. For example, I decided to select one words from my study which is an atmospheric perspective which is really important in drawing and in painting. So, in Term 1, I enter my term in lowercase, and it is important to always click save. You can also correct your mistake with the option check grammar. After, you need to select the part of speech of the term. In my example, this is a noun. When it is done, go on pronunciation and click on the microphone to generate an audio of yours word. Next, you need to add a definition, for that you will click on the option go, and you need to choose it on google. The next step, is to go on translation, and to click on go. When you find it writes it down and remember to save your progression! Now, find an example and use the same procedure. Finally, you need to find a good picture that illustrates your term if this is possible. When you found it, copy paste the URL of the image, put it in image URL. You need to add a brief description of your image if it does not show up. You can create as many terms as you want. All that you need is to click at the bottom of your page "+ Term". When you are satisfying with your glossary, you can publish it, and use it to increase your skill!

So, if you have difficulty with words in English related to your field of study, use this option to memorize everything you need.
