Hi, I am Étienne Blais, and I am in natural sciences at the CEGEP of Sherbrooke.

I am in my fourth session in natural sciences, so it is my second years and my last. This program focuses on biology, chemistry, physiques, and math.

I have only been studying English for 3 years now, but I want to go to an English university, so I am really motivated to improve.

With my program I can go to multiple program in university like engineering, mathematics or health. In all of those programme it is very important to bee able to write in English because most scientific article are written in English.

In this video I will be teaching you how virtual writing tutor can help you write a scientific article.

First, open your browser. Type this URL into the address bar and hit enter. If you typed the URL correctly, you will see this page. Under the Logo, you will be able to see all of the navigation menu. In this menu there are multiple options like the writing tools that content the screencast script record that I used to write the text of this video, but the rest will not interest us today. The thing that will interest us be just under. At the middle of the page you can see the text area. In the bottom right of the text area you will be able to see multiple examples of text, the microphone and the audio button. The best feature will be just above of the text area. This bar has multiple very useful button like improve writing that give you an improved version of your text or the word count button that let you see the number of word, sentences and paragraph. When you scroll you will be able to see the description of all of the many options that this site provide.

Now that you know the basic of the virtual writing tutor, I can explain to you how it can help you write a scientific article. For the example, I will be using an example of the site. So, if you copy a text in the text area, you will be able to see your error with the button "Check Grammar". When you click of the button, you will be able to scroll and see the number of word, of paragraph, of error and your error density. Under that, like you see on the screen, all of your error will be shown to you if you scroll more in the page. It will show you what you wrote, it will give you a feedback of the error, the type and a suggestion of the correct word. If you continue scrolling, you will be able to see an analyse of all of your error. This is very useful if you want to do an article whiteout error and learn from your mistakes in the same time.

So, if you ever want to write a scientific article, that’s how you can write a good text without error. This site is very versatile.
