Hi, everybody. My name is Marie-Maude, and I have been studying Social Science for two years now. For those of you who don't know what is Social Science, it is a field of science which study the human behavior, the system and society which a human is being part of and try to understand better the human complexity. The most well know job in this domain are probably related to the psychology, the sociology, the anthropology and the politics.
I want to become a social worker and want to achieve higher score without feeling overwhelmed. Of course, I don't think I'm the only one feeling this way. Am I right? It may happen more often than not that we pushed ourselves to achieve good grades but feel burn out after it. But, what if I told you some advice to avoid it, especially in the English course.
I'm not the greatest at speaking in English, but I improved a lot since I started to use the Virtual Writing Tutor.
I have been learning English for many years' thanks to many of my teachers. It helped me build new relationship, guiding me in touristic place and even to learn more about various subjects.
Today my goal is to demonstrate how to use the Virtual Writing Tutor ,so you can become better at speaking and writing in English.
For most of us, which English is not our first language, the most challenging comes when it's timed to speak. Even though most of us have a great ability to read and understand the meaning while listening, it may still be hard by time so understand while listening or reading. In any Social Science field it is impossible to avoid communicating since it is often related to being in contact with another person.
Being unable to pronounce or find the right word in English can bring some consequences. First, If you can't explain well, you may lose credibility. Especially if you have a professional job which is possible to be linked to people only speaking in English. It is also hard to create new relationship when the person we are talking to is always trying to figure out what we are meaning.
For example, I aspire to become a social worker. In this job, I will probably meet a lot of people who are only able to speak and communicate in English. So, if I struggle to communicate with them I will probably loose credibility and would not be able to help as many people as possible.
First, open your browser. Type virtualwritingtutor.com into the address bar and hit enter. if everything go as plan you should see this page.
In the top left corner you have the logo. Under it, you have a general menu who gives you information about the website, ways of using it and more. Then, in the middle, you will see the text box. This is probably the most useful tool on the website. Indeed, in the middle you can enter text and check if it's okay by using the different tools of the text box by clicking on the option above or under it. If we wonder how a word or a sentence is spelled, we can use the small speaker icon on the right in the bottom. For example, we wrote a word incredible and have no idea how to pronounce it we can click on this icon to check how it's spelled.
I think the best tool to become better with pronunciation is to use the small speaker icon on the right corner of the bottom next to the text area. If you are unsure about the way a word is said, you can click here, and it will spell it for you. You can also record yourself saying a word, and it will give you a feedback which is really helpful.
So, if you are studying Social Science or a related field, using the virtual writing tutor is very useful to practice your English writing and speaking. The text box can be really useful and is pretty simple to understand.
