Hello, my name is Mariane, and I am an 18th year old, nursing student. I have been in nursing for two years now. After college, I don't know witch type of nurse did I want to be. I really like children, adrenaline, and relations of caring. I would probably like to be an ER nurse, which is an emergency room nurse.
If I want to provide good and equal care to every patient, as a nurse, I must be able to understand everyone's needs, so I can respond to them properly.
I know that when adrenaline is high and things are moving quickly, we can take less time. That's why I think it's important to take the time to adapt ourselves to patients. I am really motivated to learn and understand difficult words in another language, to take care of people equally.
My goal is to show people how easy it is to understand people and help them if you take a bit of your time.

As an ER nurse, many patients require quick and effective care. However, we do not all speak the same language, and we do not always have a lot of time. Complex nursing terminology can be a major disadvantage for workers and for sick patients.
It can reduce the provision of good care, and be a waste of time for the sick patients.
A patient arrives at the emergency department with an open femur fracture. He is in severe pain, very agitated, and barely cooperative due to the intensity of his pain. He does not speak English at all and becomes impatient. We are unable to perform any assessment because we do not know the exact medical terminology in his language.
In this situation I'm reassuring you guys, there is a solution for this Problem.
First, if you want to get on this website, open google or a new tab with the little + in the top right corner, and click on the address bar, on the middle top of your screen. Write the name of this website in it, which is “Google translate ” and hit enter. Now that your screen should look like this, you don't need to create an account because it is free and accessible for everyone.
Even if you're not on the website, the screen will show you directly two boxes, which are the text area. As you prefer, you can also click on the link and open the website. The left box is for your text that you want to translate in another language, so you can only write in this one. That means that your translation will be on the right one. Otherwise, above those boxes, you can choose the language you want to translate your sentence into, by clicking the arrow. There is a very long list of language that you can use. You need to choose clearly the spoken language and the language you want to translate into. You can also see a microphone on the bottom of the text area if you want to say your sentence that you want to translate out loud. After writing your sentence, a spell checker will appear. If you click on it, you can listen to your sentence out loud and hear the right way to pronounce it. Finally, there is the logo in the top left corner.
If the patient that we were talking about earlier did not talk a bit English because he is French, you can translate with the website your sentences and properly provide his care. For example, " On the scale of 1 to 10, can you tell me where would you rate your pain?"
