Welcome, educators. My name is Angelica Pereira. I am currently completing my third year in the Early Childhood Education program at Montmorency College. Today, I’d like to introduce a great tool that helps us improve our writing and avoid grammar mistakes.
Clear communication is something every educator needs, whether we’re speaking with children, families, or colleagues.
I used to lose points on assignments for grammar mistakes, but now I’ve found a way to avoid that problem.
Through my studies, I’ve learned how important strong communication is in building relationships with children and parents. As a future educator, I’m committed to improving my professional skills, including my writing.
Today, I want to introduce you to a website that can correct grammar mistakes instantly. I’ll explain how this resource works and why it’s useful for students and educators.
After today, I hope you’ll give this tool a chance and see the difference it makes.
Stay tuned, because I’ll give you a quick demonstration of how it works.I’ll show you the step-by-step process. You might be surprised at how easy it is to use.
Let me explain the problem. Many students, including myself, struggle with grammar in English. It’s not always easy to catch our own mistakes when writing assignments.Clear writing can be a challenge, especially when we are focused on ideas more than grammar.
If our writing isn’t clear, people may misunderstand our ideas. Also, grammar mistakes can affect grades, credibility, or even professional opportunities. Sometimes errors distract the reader from the real message.
In one assignment, grammar mistakes lowered my grade even though the content was strong. I’ve noticed that even emails to teachers or supervisors need to be carefully written to sound professional.
That can be difficult. But don't worry. Luckily, there’s a solution that makes our writing clearer and easier to read.
To begin, all you need to do is open a new tab in your browser and type this URL: virtualwritingtutor.com, in the address bar. It’s free, and you don’t even need to create an account to use the basic grammar-checking features. This makes it accessible for students anywhere, at any time.
Once you have entered the URL, on the homepage, you’ll find a large logo of the website in the top left corner. In the top right corner you have the setting menu, if you click on it, it will name you all the features this web has and describe you how they all work. Over here, you have the navigation menu. You can see the features of the web. And in the middle, you have the text area, which is the one you will write on.To see your errors you will click into the submit button (Check Grammar).
For example, I will write a paragraph in the text area about a child in my group to communicate with the parent. Once I finish writing my message, I will click on "Check Grammar." As I scroll down, the tool will highlight any mistakes in red and suggest different ways to correct them, helping me sound more professional.
In conclusion, grammar mistakes are something we all experience, but with the right tools, we can easily improve and become stronger communicators. The Virtual Writing Tutor is more than just a correction website, it’s a learning resource that helps us understand language better and express our ideas clearly.
As future educators, it’s important that we model strong communication and professionalism, and this tool can help us achieve that. I encourage you to give it a try and make it part of your learning journey. Thank you so much for listening, and I hope this presentation inspires you to take your writing to the next level!
