Hi, my name is Marvin, and I’m a computer science student. I’m passionate about technology, and I’m working toward becoming either a data analyst or a full stack developer.
One of the biggest challenges in the field, especially when you're starting out, is learning how to code effectively. Many of us fall into what's called 'tutorial hell.' It’s when you watch hours of tutorials and feel like you're learning — but when it’s time to write code on your own, you’re stuck.
That’s why I chose to present Scrimba, an interactive platform designed to help people learn how to code in a much more active and practical way.
Let's find it. So let's type Scrimba. It should be your first choice.
So, this is the homepage. Right away you can see they offer courses, they offer projects, and much more. Here, let's focus on a topic. Let's say I want to learn HTML or Hypertext Markup Language. Let's click on it. In here, you'll find many courses.
Some are free, some are paid. Please take note that you have levels as well. For example, Learn HTML and CSS, it's a beginner course. Learn Accessible Web Design is an intermediate course.
Let's start with Learn HTML and CSS. see here there is many chapters if you click on the first one you'll notice that they are breakdown in many small videos let's click on html tags I will let it play a little bi . You get the idea. There's a video playing and you see the teacher coding in your screen. The magic behind this is that you can actually code on the webpage as well. Let's click here. So as you can see, I code, therefore I am. It's in a h1 or a header1 tag. Let's change it. Now let's run it.
To wrap up, learning to code can be overwhelming, and traditional tutorials often leave you feeling stuck, especially when you try to code on your own. Scrimba offers a much more interactive and practical way to learn. You don't just watch, you participate. You test, you break, you fix, and build things as you learn.
For anyone studying in computer science, whether you're aiming to become a full-stack developer like me or going to data analyst, I think Scrimba is a powerful resource that makes learning more engaging and effective. Thank you for watching my presentation. I hope you found it helpful.
