Hello, my name is Naika and I study Social Sciences at Ahuntsic College. In the Social Sciences program there is a couple of different fields. I chose to study in Psychology to become a Speech Language Pathologist, and today I'm going to show you how to use an efficient writing tool.
As you may or may not know, a big task for Speech Therapist is to write down reports of our patients. It can become easy to miss on a few errors, making our reports unreadable. Which can be quite a hassle for our other colleagues to really understand how we should tend to our patients. Plus, we have a lot of terms specific to our field, so it very important for us to write them properly.
First, open your browser. Type the URL Virtual Writing Tutor dot com into the search bar and hit "Enter." If you did it correctly, it'll lead you to this page.
At the top of the screen, you will see a logo and the navigation menu below. On the right side of the site, you can click right here to login. In the middle, here, will be where you can write your text. It even has an instruction for you to follow. At the bottom right of the text box you will see a microphone icon with a speaker icon to write your text verbatim or either to correctly pronounce your words.
As for me on the other hand, the text box is where I'll get the most use out of this site. All you need to do is write a sentence, and after that, you can click on "Check Grammar" to see your mistakes or "Improve Writing" button to modify your sentences. As an example : "The patient has difficulty producing r and s sounds."
As for the pronunciation, lets say I don't know how to say this word. "Dysphagia", you can click on the microphone here, and now you know how to say Dysphagia.
So, if you are in psychology or a related field, that's how you can write any reports.
