Hello, my name is Mikaelle Gouin, and I am a Fine Art student.

As artists, we all have a difficult time to find good references for our artworks, and sometimes it might be hard to create them ourselves.

When I started Art, it wasn't always easy for me to find the right picture to base myself on for my artworks. I have done a lot of research recently on the subject, and I now lose less time on finding a reference picture.

I have been studying art since I was 12 years old. Most precisely, I have been a Fine Art student at the Cégep du Vieux Montreal for the past two years. In this program we learn how to use different mediums, art techniques, for creative purpose.

My goal is to show you the perfect solution for when you have trouble finding a good reference for your artworks. How to make your own reference easily.

This will only take 3 minutes. I will show you how to do it with a step-by-step tutorial.

You will be amazed by what you can do with this website.

When creating an artwork, it might be hard to get the anatomy of a character correctly or the perspective when you are not using a reference picture.

Drawing without a reference make learning anatomy way harder.

For example, you need to find a picture of a guy sitting on a chair, from a bird's-eye perspective, so seeing the scene from above, but you can't find anything that fits your vision.

I have found the solution. In the next moments I will show you how to solve this problem.

First, open your browser, and click on the address bar. Type this URL and hit enter. You should now be on the website main page.

At the top of the screen you can find the navigation menu that contains tutorials.
If you use the scroll bar, you can find all of the options proposed to you.
In the top right corner of the main screen, there is the button to open the creative section of the website.
In the bottom left corner of the screen you can find buttons to change the light surrounding your character and all of the options to change your character. There is also a bit more buttons in the top left corner of the screen.

This webpage is where you want to go to find the solution to the problem I mentioned before.
In my example, I couldn't find the right image for my drawing of a person sitting in a chair from a bird's-eye view perspective. Click on the premade scene button, and you will have a base to work with.
After this, you can change each part of the body with these circles to make it into the position that you want.
To get the perspective you want you can just left-click on your mouse and drag it on the screen.

So, if you are a Fine Art student or someone that is into art, this is the easiest way to solve the problem of not finding a good reference picture for your artwork. I promised I would show you how to make your own references, and I did it using the website Pose My Art.
