Hello, I got a great video for you today. If you don't already know, my name is Kayla Hamel. I have been studying at Ahuntsic College for one year. I recently completed the Springboard to a DCS: Option Prerequisite program, and next session I will begin the Natural Science program. I haven't started the program yet, but next semester I'll have General Chemistry, Calculus, and Linear Algebra as courses. This program allows you to go to university and then do whatever you want in the field of science, such as becoming a chemist, a mathematician, a physicist and more.
As chemistry students, we use the periodic table all the time whether we're doing calculations, working in the lab, or studying. That's why it's important to know it by heart, so we don’t waste time searching for the name or symbol of an element. However, memorizing it can be challenging. That’s why I’m going to show you an app that will help solve this problem by making it easier to memorize the elements of the periodic table.
First of all, to access this application, you need to download it. Go to the App Store and type Periodic Table Quiz in the search bar. Once it’s downloaded, open the app. If the application is in French, go to the settings and click on Change Language. Once you’ve adjusted the settings to your preference, at the bottom of the screen in the middle, click on start. The application offers you three types of games: find the elements, multiple choice and text input. For each game, you can choose how the questions will be asked. For example, you can select to be shown the name of an element and be asked to match it with the correct symbol. You can play using the element name, symbol, atomic number, or atomic weight. After selecting the game mode, you want to click at the bottom of the screen in the middle on select. Next, you’ll need to choose which elements to include. You can either customize your own list or choose a pre-made one. Once the game begins, you’ll see a timer in the top right corner of the screen. In the top left corner of the screen, you’ll see how many answers you’ve gotten right and wrong. To play, simply tap on the screen where you think the correct symbol, name, atomic number or weight should go depending on the mode you chose. If you want to stop the game, tap the back arrow in the bottom left corner of the screen. This will take you back to the main menu.
In conclusion, Periodic Table Quiz is a great app to learn the periodic table in a fun and easy way. Thanks for watching.
