During the semester, we often have to submit lab reports. These reports must be well-done, meaning no spelling or grammar mistakes, otherwise, we lose points. These are small, avoidable mistakes. We have all the tools to correct them, but often we don't take the time because we're in a rush to submit our work on time.

If you forget to proofread, you risk losing points, which could affect your final grade.

Imagine you're writing a chemistry report on titration. Instead of writing “stoichiometry”, you mistakenly write “stoechiometry”. Although it's a minor mistake, it shows a lack of precision in scientific vocabulary. Your professor marks it as an error, and you lose points, something that could have easily been avoided.

That can be frustrating. But don’t worry, I’ve found the solution!
In the next few minutes, I’ll show you exactly how to solve this problem.

First, open your browser and type VirtualWritingTutor.com into the address bar. Hit enter, and if you typed it correctly, you will see this page.

In the top left corner of the screen, there is the website’s logo. In the bottom right corner, there are several icons if you want to share the website on social media. Below the logo, there is the navigation menu, where you can learn more about the platform. In the center of the screen, you’ll find the text box where you type your text to check for errors. Below the text box, there is a sound button to listen to the pronunciation of words.

Now, let me show you how to correct a sentence. Type a sentence in the text box, for example: "Stoechiometry was used to balance the chemical equation."
After writing your sentence, click on "Check grammar". You will notice that the incorrect word is underlined in red. Simply click on the underlined word, and the correction will appear above it.
If you scroll down the page, you can see the number of words in your sentence, the number of errors, and the correction for each one. You can also listen to the correct pronunciation of words like "Stoichiometry".
