Hi Youtube, I hope you all are doing well! My name is Audrey-Anne Hébert, and I am studying in the Police Technology's program at Ahuntsic College. I am currently in my second year, and my courses include cultural diversity relations, police intervention, young offenders, criminal offenses, swimming, and combat. What stands out about this program is that the courses are very diverse, so it doesn't feel repetitive. After completing this program, my goal is, of course, to become a police officer. Personally, I don’t have a specific specialization in mind yet, but you can specialize in areas such as sexual crimes, crimes against people, criminal intelligence, detective work, K9 handler, or undercover operations.
In this profession, we often have to write multiple reports and take notes. For this reason, it is important that your reports are clean because it can be used by lawyers and judges in court either as a defense tool in case a police intervention went south or as proof against criminals. If you make too many grammar mistakes in your report, it could give you a bad reputation. This kind of situation can be really stressful, but don’t worry, there's a simple solution. I will help you by showing you a useful website that will help future police officers to solve this problem and get rid of those grammar mistakes.
First, open your browser and create a new tab. Type VirtualWritingTutor.com in the address bar. If you typed the address correctly, you should see in the top left corner of your screen, the logo of the site.
In the middle of the screen is the text area. In the bottom right corner of the text area are several tools at your disposal like a check spelling button that underline with a red line your spelling mistakes, a microphone to start speech recognition and a text-to-speech button that read your text and show you the right pronunciations. At the top of the screen in the middle, right under the navigation menu are some blue boxes who also acte as tools to help you correct your text. Finally, if you scroll down the page, you’ll see many tips on how each tool in the blue boxes, works.
Now I’ll show you how to use the tools provided by this website to find and correct all the grammar mistakes. First, copy your report into the text area. For the sake of the video, I’ll write a physical description of a suspect. You can already see that there are words underlined in red. Let’s see if they’re grammar mistakes by clicking on the Check grammar box between the “improve writing” and the “detect GPT” boxes. As you can see, the site will automatically find the grammar mistakes. It’ll also automatically scroll down the page to show you how many mistakes you have in your report, where your mistakes are, some feedback about your mistakes and some suggestions on how to correct them. Once you’ve corrected all of your mistakes, you can click again on the check grammar box to see if there are any mistakes left. As you can see, there’s none left on my report. I'm sure now that my report is clean and grammar mistakes free.
