Like everyone, I want to be better in my pronunciation so that everyone can understand me.

Even though I’ve been studying English for years, I’m still not the best with my pronunciation. I have difficulty with certain words, and that can cause problems when communicating with others. However, I improved my skills and I’m better than when I first started speaking English.

For the past years, I kept an average of 80% in English orals.

When you become a police officer, you’ll need to be able to communicate with everyone, regardless of their language. In many big cities, like Montreal, there are a lot of people who only speak English. You’ll need to know how to communicate with them using the right terms and clear pronunciation, so they can understand you.

If you can’t explain things clearly, you will lose credibility, and since you represent the law, you always want to make a good impression.

Imagine you have to make an arrest. You need to read the person their rights. But if the person only speaks English, you’ll have to explain their rights in that language. If you mispronounce too many words, you’ll appear unprofessional.

In the top left corner, you’ll notice the Virtual Writing Tutor logo. Just below the logo, you’ll find the navigation menu, which offers many tools to help you master English. In the middle of the screen, you’ll see a text area. This is where you can write the words and sentences you want to learn how to pronounce correctly.

Now, this is where you can learn how to pronounce any word you need! At the bottom right of the text area, you’ll see a microphone icon. After typing the sentence you want to learn, simply click on the microphone, and you’ll hear the correct pronunciation. For example, I’ll write the word “arrest.” Then, I click on the microphone, and it will show you how to pronounce it without any spelling mistakes.
