Welcome back everyone to my screencast, my name is Thomas Ouellet-Mecteau, for those of you that don't know about me a student at Ahuntsic College. Right now, I am studying Police Technology, and it has always been my dream job to be a police officer. This program is teaching us everything we need to know to be a good officer. In fact, there is criminology, defense, law, police intervention, anthropology. Afterward, when I am finished with my studies, I will be able to choose where I want to go. I might want to chose Sureté du Québec because I will have many job choices like being staying on patrol, rank up in the organisation or learn to be a detective.
Since I am studying policing, I have learned many things about the job and sometimes, some of them can be tricky. For example, when you are doing an intervention with a person that is policed interest, you have to fill an arrest sheet and this will go directly to your superior. So, sometimes you can make mistakes, but you do not want to do them in front of your superior. But, there is a solution to all that, and I have found the website that can help you. This way, you will be able to check all your structure and your grammar errors, and then when you will send your reports to your superiors, it will make you seem like a pro.
First thing first, write down the URL in the address bar at the top of the screen in the middle, virtualwritingtutor.com. Under the logo, there is the navigation menu and just under that, there are the instructions that tells you how to use the website. In middle of the screen, there is the text box where you will be writing your text and at the top of the box, there is many buttons that you can use to check your grammar have writing advice and more. But, I think those two are the most important for my field of study.
For example, when you are doing a report, you can write it all down in the text box. « We used the battering ram to breach into his apartment. » This way when you click on check your grammar, you will see that I made no mistakes, but if I add a P to apartment, it will let me know how many words I have and how many mistakes I made. Also, if you click on writing advice, you can have advices on how being more persuasive. Because, when you are going to court, you want to be persuasive.
