A sterilization process that uses high-pressure steam inside a sealed device called an autoclave to kill bacteria, viruses, fungi, and resilient spores.

Centrifugation

A laboratory and industrial process that uses rapid spinning—and the resulting centrifugal force—to separate different components of a mixture based on their size, shape, and density.

Denaturation

A process where proteins or nucleic acids (like DNA) lose their natural three-dimensional shape and biological activity due to external stress.
Example: My protein got a denaturation.

Inoculation

Introducing a pathogen, vaccine, or microorganism into a living body, soil, or growth medium.
Example: Mass inoculation will take at least four to six months

Laminar flow hood

A closed workbench that uses a fan and a special filter to blow clean air over a work area and keep samples safe from dust and germs.
Example: The lab technician placed the petri dishes inside the laminar flow hood to maintain a sterile environment.

Pipetting
Verb (Present Participle / Gerund) or Noun (Verbal Noun)
The act of measuring and moving small amounts of liquid using a laboratory tool called a pipette.
Example: Im pipetting 5 ml of HCl (acide).

A scientific instrument that measures the intensity of light absorbed, transmitted, or reflected by a sample as a function of wavelength.
