Hi, my name is Gabriel Sylvestre. I live in Laval and in the future I want to become a firefighter. I don't have start this program yet, but next year I start it in IPIQ at Laval.This glossary going to be very helpful to people who want to become firefighters or for anyone who want to learn some vocabulary. Each word presented in this glossary is related of this job and very useful in the field. I choose these words because I did some research of what vocabulary is popular during operation,so with there i will be able to talk with my partner and understand the terms that they use and succes the opearation. With these words and definitions, everyone will be able to use and understand them.
Air cylinder

An air cylinder in firefighting is a high-pressure, portable tank containing compressed, filtered air that is part of a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). It provides a life-saving, independent breathable air supply (typically 30–60 minutes) allowing firefighters to breathe safely while operating in hazardous, smoke-filled, or oxygen-deficient environments.
Example: Make sure the air cylinder is fully charged before the operation.

Backdraft
