20 Accounting and Management Technology terms

I made this glossary to simplify the use of word related to this field of study. It will also help me improve my comprehension of those words. Finally it is a really good tool for anyone who is trying to upgrade their level in English by learning new words. All of those words are related to my field of study. I am in Accounting and management technology and in this field of study we do a lot of accounting, we learn how to use online websites, we learn marketing strategies, and we learn how to do management inside a company. For example, as a director of the decision, a member of human resources, owner of a company and many other jobs.

Asset
noun
An item of property owned by a person or company, regarded as having value and available to meet debts, commitments, or legacies.
Example: Do you have a lot of assets with your company.

bankruptcy
noun
A legal proceeding involving a person or business that is unable to repay outstanding debts.
Example: This company had to do a bankruptcy.
fr: Banqueroute
Arrow going down to demonstrate losing money.
Budget
noun
A statement of the financial position of an administration (as of a nation) for a definite period of time based on estimates of expenditures during the period and proposals for financing them.
Example: I busted my budget of this month.

Cash cycle
noun
The length of time between the purchase of raw materials and the collection of accounts receivable generated in the sale of the final product.
Example: The cash cycle is great since we bought that delivery car.

Conservatism
noun
Commitment to traditional values and ideas with opposition to change or innovation.
Example: My coworker said that he wanted to work the old way. He is a conservatism.

Contract
noun
An agreement between two or more parties to do or not do something specified.
Example: We signed a contract to exchange with the United States of America.

Two person concluding a contract.
Credit
noun
The deduction of a payment made by a debtor from an amount due.
Example: The debtor made a credit so i do not have to pay as much money as before.
fr: Crédit

Customer
noun
A person who buys goods or services from a shop or business.
Example: Our customer were'nt happy about our price yesterday.

An image showing a person buying product from other person.
Equity
noun
The value of the shares issued by a company.
Example: I have a twenty percent equity with this company.

garnishment
noun
A court order directing that money or property of a third party (usually wages paid by an employer) be seized to satisfy a debt owed by a debtor to a plaintiff creditor.
Example: I did not pay my debt on time, so they do a garnishment until I can pay it.

Demonstrating that if the debt is not paid garnishment dont end.
goodwil
noun
An intangible asset that arises as a result of the acquisition of one company by another for a premium value.
Example: By buying this company I got a lot of goodwill, it was really worth it.

Interest
noun
A charge for a loan, usually a percentage of the amount loaned.
Example: I have an interest of 20% on my loan.

An arrow showing that interest grows when you do not pay your loan on time.
Leasing
Verb
Leasing, a contract by which an asset is rented and can be purchased at the end of the lease.
Example: Be sure to speak with your lender about the terms for the end of your balloon leasing agreement.

Someone signing a lease agreement.
Loan
noun
A thing that is borrowed, especially a sum of money that is expected to be paid back with interest.
Example: My bank gave me a loan of twenty-thousand dollars.

A bank giving somebody a loan.
margin
noun
The difference between a sale price and a cost.
Example: We have a 30 dollars margin on that product.
fr: Marge

pension
noun
Allowance paid periodically to a person by the state, a social organization, or another person.

One person signing a contract to have a pension.
relevance
noun
A qualitative characteristic in accounting. Relevance is associated with information that is timely, useful, has predictive value, and is going to make a difference to a decision maker.
Example: For a company’s financial statements to have relevance they must be issued within several weeks.

Showing what is relevence in the processus of loan.
shareholder
noun
An owner of shares in a company.
Example: This shareholder has 20% of the company since 2018.
fr: Actionnaire
A group of people discussing about company project.
Tax
noun
A compulsory contribution to state revenue, levied by the government on workers' income and business profits, or added to the cost of some goods, services, and transactions.
Example: I pay my tax every day and this is why I deserve government services.
fr: impôt
A paper confirming the tax payement.
Wage
noun
A wage is a certain amount of money given to somebody for their work. We can also call it a salary, a pay or earnings.
Example: I worked really hard this month I am so exited to receive my wage.
fr: Salaire
