20 Chemistry terms

Good evening, my name is Aisha Mohammad. I live in Laval and frequent Montmorency College where I study chemistry. I have made a glossary, hoping that it would be useful for students in the same field of study as me. It also will be great help for future upcoming students. I have specifically chosen words that I have used so far this semester during my classes. They are basic words we have been using since the beginning of semester. They are the most common and useful words used in chemistry. This glossary provides information about the various aspects studied in chemistry, which can be very helpful for the general knowledge of new students. By learning the meaning behind these concepts, students can learn with more ease. It is also very important to remember the meaning behind the words for future use. They are the most commonly used terms.

acid

A substance that donates hydrogen ions (H^+) in solution, typically having a pH less than 7.

: A substance that accepts hydrogen ions or donates hydroxide ions (OH^-) typically having a pH greater than 7.
