Physical education is a field where we educated people about good lifestyle habits, and we encouraged them to exercise more. This glossary will be useful for understanding concepts that teachers teach their students in English. For example, teachers show students good sportsmanship, proper nutrition and its components, as well as the properties or muscles.

Aerobic capacity
The maximum amount of oxygen your body can use at one time during an intense exercise, also known as VO2 max.
Balance
The ability to remain standing, especially because your weight is equally distributed.
Calorie
A unit of energy, often used as measurement of the amount of energy that food provides.
Carbohydrate
One of several substances, such as sugar or starch, that provide the body with energy, or food containing these substances such as bread, potatoes, pasta, and rice.
Cardiovascular endurance
The ability of your heart and lungs to supply oxygen to your muscles while you are exercising at medium or high intensity.
Coordination
The ability to make your arms, legs, and other body parts moved in a controlled way.
Discipline
The ability to control yourself or other people, even in difficult situations.
Endorphin
A chemical naturally, released in the brain to reduce pain, that in large amounts can make you feel relaxed or full energy.
Flexibility
The ability to bend or to be bent easily without breaking.
Focus
Careful attention that is given to something such as a task, or the ability to give your full attention to something.
Health
The condition of the body and the degree to which it is free from illness, or the state to being well.
Metabolism
All the chemical processes in your body, especially those that cause food to be used for energy and growth.
Motivation
Enthusiasm for doing something.
Muscular endurance
The ability of a muscle or a group of muscles to sustain repeated contractions against resistance for an extended period.
Posture
The way in which someone usually holds their shoulders, neck, and back, or a particular position in which someone stands, sits, etc.
Protein
One of the many substances found in food such as meat, cheese, fish, or eggs, that is necessary for the body to grow and be strong.
Reaction time
A measure of how a person can respond to a specific stimulus in their environment.
Recovery
The process of allowing your body return to normal after doing strong exercise or being injured.
Sportsmanship
Behavior in sport that is fair and shows respect to the other players.
Teamwork
The activity of working together as a team, or the skills needed to do this.
